New Player (F2P) - UI Questions
1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,
So I'm new to game and have a few questions. I know how to move the UI around and adjust the sizes but there is one thing that bothers the living daylights out of me. The pop-up panel that appears when you scroll over an ability, NPC, etc... It keeps getting in the way when I engage an enemy, looking around, trading at vendors, EVERYTHING. How can I move this panel so it pops up at the side of my screen/ what is it called in the UI settings? I've attached a message of the panel to decrease confusion. Also, any widely used Custom UI's I should try? Lua plugins? And if so, how can I download them? Thanks in advance! |
That's the Tool Tip window. There is an Option to have it pop up at the mouse position or at a static position. If you enable Static Tool Tips, then you can position the window like any other UI element.
Settings>Enable Static Tool Tips then Ctrl-\ and you can move it. |

As to Plugins, I am partial to MoorMap, Alerter, AltInventory and a few others ;) Seriously though, Plugins will depend on what you want them for. You can browse through the downloads section to get an idea of what is available - don't be put off if they were posted a couple of years ago, the Lua API hasn't changed in over two years so many Plugins haven't needed any updates. I would recommend Lunarwater's Plugin Compendium to eliminate some of the simpler issues with downloading and installing them. There are two versions, one for Windows and one for Linux/Mac.
Windows: http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...nfo.php?id=663 Linux/Max: http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...mMacLinux.html If you like roleplaying a musician, Songbook seems quite popular. I don't use any "bar" plugins but SeqenceBars seems to have some attractive features and is still being maintained: http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...uenceBars.html There are plugins for organizing Pet and Travel skills, just search the downloads section and you will find several. |

My wife and I are plugin junkies. She's even started working on a few of her own. Here is a short list of some of my favorites:
Travel Window - puts all your travel skills in one window Daily Tasks - Managing task board items, very extensive, one of my favorites Virtue View - Cool program for tracking your virtues, hasnt been upated in a while though Alt Inventory - Lets you search the inventory of your alts Alt Wallet - lets you search the wallet of your alts statdiff - lets you compare multiples stats when you get a new piece of gear Bevy o' Bars - create multiple shortcut bars, lots of options Simply Notes - very simple, lets you create notes that can be shared with alts Have fun! |
