Description

Extended and enhanced panels
with less store buttons

Introduction :

Here is a compilation of enhanced panels codes gathered in a single skindefinition file.
These custom panels are designed for high resolution screens (resolutions below 1024X768 are not supported, 1440X900 or higher is highly recommended).
These panels are the same than those embedded in JRR except the extended barter panel.

Since v4.2b there are 2 skin profiles embedded in this release. The first one has extended an enhanced panels only, the second adds some store buttons removal.

This release can be used as well as a skin to enjoy convenient enhancements within lotro's default themes (hero and monster play) or as well as a skin developing starting base.
After installation and ingame selection of the skin on your character, you have to logout and relog to enjoy the new panels settings.

Extended and Enhanced Panels is supported by MMOUI Minion update software. More informations HERE.

Step by step installation :

  • Download to your desktop the zip file hosted on this page.
  • Unpack) it (using windows right clicking unzipping embedded function, or with a dedicated software as 7zip (free software), Winzip, or Winrar...).
  • Once the zip file is unpacked on your desktop, check if the new created folder is called "ExtendedEnhancedPanels" or "ExtendedEnhancedPanels *something more*".
    if it is the longer name, double left click on it to enter the folder then you should be facing the right "ExtendedEnhancedPanels" folder.
  • Copy (or cut) it, then paste it in your ..\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\ folder.
    Tipycally, on windows vista and seven it looks like C:\ User(s) \ your account name \ documents \ The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\
    on Windows XP, it should look like C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\
    If ui and/or skins (don't forget the *s*) folders don't exist, then create it, and then copy in it the ExtendedEnhancedPanels folder.
  • Now, the skin will be available in Lotro the next time run it !
  • To allocate the skin to one of your characters, log him/her, then open the ingame option panel ( *O* key)
    --> select UI settings tab --> go to "user current skin" and use the scrollable selection box to select Enhanced Panels.

Featured enhancements :

- A dressing room by Brygard, modified a first time by Jack, then by Adra.
- The Old one's Extended barter, modified by Adra.
- Extended quest panel, by Adra, including a French localization fix on daily quest display.
- Numerical PVP rank icons & vitals pvp rank display fix, by Adra.
- A Larger Auction Panel, by Thrashfinger, modified by Wicky71 and Adra to fix localization issues.
- Transparent map tracker, by Hazado.
- Extended Mail and vendor parts from "Firefern's Crafting, Vendor and Dressing Room" by Mirarkitty.
- Map window from Eclipse UI, by Eclipse aka Shivega.
- Custom Saruman rings, by Adra. (with a Photoshop file to make your own if you want to)
- Virtues Organized by Artificeren
- Reforged Crafting Panel by Adra, based on JappMe crafting window.
- Mainly based on Elwe's No Store Button, I disabled some of the most intrusive lotro store buttons within various UI panels. (I left, by choice, the main skill bar store button active).
- And extended master loot panel and need/greed/pass panel which allows to display 20 items instead of 10, by Eric Led, and updated by Adra.

. . . Store buttons removed :
  • Character panel : Equipment tab (enhance) & Appearance tab (buy outfits) buttons
  • Auction house (buy more selling slots)
  • Wallet
  • "circle" virtues panel : The "buy virtue +1" overlay icon is set invisible but still functional.
  • Deed log "accelerate" button
  • Destiny barter
  • Crafting panel : buy recipes / buy mats / accelerate buttons
  • Quest book "daily task limit +1" button
  • Relic Master panel
  • Instance Finder, with two French localization fixes
  • (Reputation, milestone & legendary item main panels cannot be handled yet)

Release notes :

v.4.6

Updated the code which allows to display 20 items instead of 10 in the master loot panel and the need/greed/pass panel.

v.4.3

- Fix for update 9 : No more custom code for the stable master panel.

v.4.2b

- Please delete any previous installation of Enhanced and extended panel before installing this one.
- Renamed the skins in the skin choice list from the option panel : EEPanels
- Splitted Extended and enhanced panel into 2 profiles : less store buttons and default store buttons.

v.4.2

- Small update of the player and opponent vital bar codes. (They are used to move the numerical PVP rank icon).

v.4.1

- Master loot list window can now show a maximum of 14 items simultaneously instead of 10 by default.

v.3.4e

A last fix to enable LotrOnion support. It's fully working now
Please manually delete any previous installation before copy/pasting this one in your plugin folder.

v.3.4d

Hotfix : the game was unable to read the new name in v3.4c, this is now fixed !

v.3.4c

- First attempt to add LotrOnion support ^^
  • LotrOnion is a MMOUI Minion plugin which allows you to update in one click all your previously installed lotro plugins !
  • The Zip file internal "path finder" folder structure has been removed to support LotrOnion requirements.
  • Installation : Download and install this release as usual. Future updates will be supported through LotrOnion. (manual updates will be of course still supported !).
  • Since I changed the installation folder's name, please delete any previous installation folder (called "extended panels xx") to avoid old version still featured ingame in skin choice list.
- The update version number isn't not mentioned any more in the ingame selection menu's skin name.
- Instance finder panel customizations are disabled for full Rise of Rohan expansion beta support.

v.3.4b

- Updated the wallet code.

v.3.4

v.2.9

- Modified a little bit the dress room title bar position.
- Corrected the bottom border of the auction house.

v.2.8

- Introduced a reforged crafting panel. It is intended to fix German and French localization issues.
- Fixed a minor French localization issue on auction house panel.

v.2.6

- Fixed both player and opponent vital bars height, which has been increased with 5th anniversary update.

v.2.4

- Fixed the player/opponent portrait becoming smaller or bigger when entering a new area.
(it occurred only if vital bar scale wasn't set to 1.0)

v.2.3

- Added JRR's extended quest panel.
- Added JRR's numerical PVP rank icons & vitals pvp rank display fix.
- Auction panel reworked to fix german (fix by Wicky71) and french issues, also fixes the bottom border issue.

v.2.2

Update 6 release - Just removed the outdated "extended skirmish" panel.

v.2.0

This version 2 can be considered as well as a skin maker starting base as well as a ready-to-use skin dedicated to enhance Lotro's default theme.

- The dressing room has been updated a bit.

Added components :

- Transparent map tracker by Hazado
- Larger Auction Panel v2.0.6 by Thrashfinger

Hi and thanks for the feedback.

There is no easy way to toggle back on the store buttons in the skins from the JRR pack.

To get it back, the method consists into editing the skindefinition.xml files (with wordpad, notepad or any other text editor) for each skin you wanna customize, and delete every paragraph indicated as a dedicated lotro store button removal.
But, it is much more complicated concerning non-dedicated store buttons removal code, as crafting panel, extended quest book panel, re-organised virtues panel, auction house...

I already thought about releasing such an alternate edition, but maintaining 2 JRR packs side by side would quickly lead me in an asylum

Nevertheless, concerning Extended & enhanced panels, thats very different, I can easily include in its next update a second profile with store buttons restored to default... And I start working on it right now !
This profile could even be used as a panel replacement code source for someone who'd wish to produce a JRR alternate pack with store buttons untouched (and as a hidden bonus, in the JRR pack most of the store button are already skinned !).

Hey Adra!

I've got one question but before I'll get to asking I'd like to thank you for an amazing work. I simply can't play the game without your skin pack installed. Kudos!

Now, to my question. As someone who uses Lotro Store a lot, is it possible to have all of the store buttons restored? They might be intrusive to some but for me they provide a fast way to jump between items I want to buy without me having to search the store manually. I'd appreciate very much if you could provide any information on how to restore that functionality or perhaps provide a version of your skin pack with Store buttons untouched.

Thanks in advance!

@ Vald

Hi,

I can't find any match for "task" key search in the skindictionnary provided in the rohan skinning update pack, except on quest book panel.

This means I dunno where to find the task panel code, and without the original code, no modification can be realized, sorry.

Re: Store button

@ Tegalad

Hi,

Yes, it is possible to remove the Lotro Store button, but it's a bit more complicated than for the others elements.

Here is the code to add in the skindefinition.xml file :

Code:
<PanelFile ID="ID_UISkin_Toolbar">
	<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="448" Y="9000" Width="1024" Height="200">
		<Element ID="Toolbar_WebstoreButton" 	X="0" Y="0" Width="1" 	Height="1"></Element>
	</Element>
</PanelFile>

You will have to replace X="448" and Y="9000"

Calculation rule for this skin :

X = (Your game resolution Width - 1024) / 2
Y = Your game resolution Height - 200

Here is the table indicating how the line to edit should be, depending your game resolution (for a toolbar scale equal to 1.00) :

Resolution 1024x768 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="0" Y="568" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1280x768 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="128" Y="568" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1280x800 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="128" Y="600" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1280x960 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="128" Y="760" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1280x1024 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="128" Y="824" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1360x1024 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="168" Y="824" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1366x768 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="171" Y="568" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1400x1050 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="188" Y="850" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1440x900 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="208" Y="700" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1600x900 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="288" Y="700" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1600x1200 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="288" Y="1000" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1680x1050 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="328" Y="850" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1776x1000 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="376" Y="800" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1920x1080 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="448" Y="880" Width="1024" Height="200">

Resolution 1920x1200 => <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="448" Y="1000" Width="1024" Height="200">

Don't forget to save the modification before exiting (in .xml format, not .txt).

Thank you for these enhancements, I really like them.
I wasn't particularly fond of the windowed map though, so I went ahead and removed the lines you detailed in your reply. It was easy enough, thanks for that

Thanks, it works

I put the 2 lines inside comment tags, so if I ever want to experiment with it, it is still there.

@ Tibonom

Hi, and thanks for your feedback,

In order to restore the fullscreen map, you have to manually edit the skindefinition.xml file located there :

...\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\Extended panels V3\_SkinDefinition\skindefinition.xml

Open it with Notepad or any other text editor, then delete these lines (located at the half of the document) :

<!-- Map Window, by Eclipse -->
<PanelFile ID="ID_UISkin_MapPanel">
<Element ID="MapBackground" X="0" Y="0" Width="1024" Height="768"> </Element>
</PanelFile>
<!-- End of Map Window -->

Don't forget to save the file, still on .xml file format.

At the next lotro launch, the map will be restored to fullscreen

How to remove the map component?

I love this skin; it makes everything larger... except the map component. It is hard for me to read.

So how can I remove the map component? (sorry Eclipse)
