Description
Welcome to TonicBars
The concept is a Bar (quickbar) manager. It will allow you to create Bars and manage different attributes for them. To compliment traditional bars, is a new concept called Extensions. The idea though is that you select a quickslot on your main bar you want to extend. You then indicate which direction you want this bar to extend into. There is a list of predefined configurations such as: Hunter Travel, Warden Travel, LM Combat Pets, LM Cosmetic Pets, and many more.

TonicBars Can:
  • Organize skills, items, mounts, pets, and more onto Quick-Bars for easy access.
  • Automatically Manage your Classes skills to unclutter the screen
    • Stances
    • Tiered
    • Defeat Response
    • And More!
  • Trigger those bars to display under certain circumstances.
    • In-combat
    • Poisoned, Wounded, Feared, Diseased
    • Based on Class Specific Buffs!!!
    • Alt, Control, Shift Pressed
    • Health/Power Drops below some Percentage
  • Customize the Bars in terms of:
    • How many Rows / Columns of quickslots to show (aka, the size of the bar)
    • Spacing between the quickslots
    • Size of quickslots (will improve this soon)
    • Bar Background Color, Bar Opacity, Shortcut Opacity, Remove Opacity when moused over
  • Add Extensions to a bar (hide skills, but get to them Quick)
    • Display Extension when moused over
    • Display Extension when moused over & Roll up the selection to main bar
    • Randomly pick a shortcut on mouse over
    • Cycle through shortcuts on the extension on mouse over
  • Copy bars, Reset Bars, Copy the entire bar setup from another character on the same server.

TonicBars works with DragBars:
Make sure to Download and install DragBar, it's not required, but highly Recommended!!! This will make TonicBars work similar to Standard Turbine Bars (you can move windows around using the ctrl-\ command).
http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info367-ClassDragBarwithExamples.html

Video Tutorial:
Created by Merric at "A Casual Stroll to Mordor" located here: http://www.casualstrolltomordor.com/...tro_plugin_07/ for a more detailed description of how TonicBars works and what people think about it.

How To Use:
When you first load up TonicBar you’ll get an icon that resembles an Goblet with a green ozing luqid that appears in the upper left of the screen. You can freely move that anywhere you want. When you click it, the MainMenu screen will be displayed. Once displayed, you can Add Standard quickslot bars, Add Extension Bars (bars that are only displayed when you mouse over their connecting quickslot), modify generic options such as coping Bars from another character on the same server, and more.

Once you have added a standard bar, and the MainMenu is currently visible, you can move that bar anywhere you want using the Tab that is sticking out over top the bar. This Tab is green and easily identifiable.

From here, you can layout your bars and use the MainMenu to setup the bar settings, such as, is the bar LOCKED, how many quickslots, how many columns, is it a combat bar, show when ALT is pressed or Control or Shift, Opacity, etc.

Once you Close that MainMenu it locks down the bars. They can not be moved, pressed, etc. You can still add skills to it, but the bar can’t be moved. Opening up the MainMenu again will allow you to configure their locations.

Adding extension bars can greatly unclutter your interface. Use these bars to hide hunters/wardens ports, stances, horses, pets, and more. An extension bar can do a lot of things. The idea though is that you select a quickslot on your main bar you want to extend. You then indicate which direction you want this bar to extend into.

You can then select how you want the extension to work and what you want to show up on it. There is a list of predefined configurations such as: Hunter Travel, Warden Travel, LM Combat Pets, LM Cosmetic Pets, and housing.

You can also indicate what to do when mousing over the extension. You can make it so when you mouse over the quickslot it will cycle through the quickslots on the extenion bar, or that it will choose a random entry. Lastly you can have the extension roll the last selection to the connected quickslot when you select something.

Plugin doesn't work what happened?
First and foremost make sure that we put the plugin in the right folder. It should be in: "/lord of the rings online/plugins/tonic/..." it can not have an extra directory in there like "/lord of the rings online/plugins/<tonicbars_v1.2>/tonic/..." that won't work.

Try loading the plugin using: "/plugins load tonicbars" does this work? Do you get anything on the Console saying there is an error?
(you can unload this plugin using "/plugins unload tonicbars" )

If you load it and you don't see errors on the console window, look in the upper left of your window for an icon with a Green Goblet in it. You can move that anywhere on the window and click it to get the main menu, you are good to go.

v2.5.1
-Fixed issues with Extension Bars

v2.5

-Reworked the way Buffs are selected using a new improved CheckedCombo Box. :P

v2.4 - Inventory Bars were added. Changed a LOT of code fundamental to Bars (all types) and Menus (all types).

Inventory Bars:
You can now create Bars that are customized from elements in your inventory. Meaning you want to have a bar that shows all of your potions without having to configure them each time? You can. Add a new potion to your inventory and it's automatically added to the bar.
You can configure these bars based on: "Quantity", "Catagory" or a "Name Filter". These are basics, I plan on adding sorting and more going forward. You can add Color to Inventory Bars and they have Rows and Columns this way, you can make them larger / smaller, but it will only display the Amount that it can. If there are not ENOUGH items to fill your inventory bar, one of two things happen right now. They either don't show any icons at all, or you have a "Bar" that you can't drop anything into. Play with it a little. It'll be improved later.

Bar Changes:
When adding the Inventory Bar I realized the current bars had become a jumbled mess. This cleanup facilitated the addition of Inventory Items and made the process easy to extend Bars moving forward.

Menu Changes:
The basic idea behind the menu changes are to make menus easier to write, maintain, etc. From a user perspective you should see No change (Assuming I didn't break anything).

What to expect going forward

Since update 7 the bars don't remember their window positions after logout.

I have tried recreating the bars from scratch but the behaviour is unchanged with a fresh installation.

Fail

Well I gave it a shot, really wanted this addon to work. First char I setup Errors galore, extensions worked, then got yellow bar across entire screen on some. Bars for triggered skills and pots worked on one char and wouldn't trigger on any others, just stayed visible on screen. All other characters now, but the one that works, the addon won't even load, even though manager at char screen is set to all characters. Looked at the referenced Lua lines and decided I was not going to spend time with programming and debugging, been there done that, retired, closed it up before I got hooked, lol.

So, are there any other addons out there with adjustable bars that work from triggers?

Thanks for this plugin. I love it and it is a standard for all my toons.

I am noticing one problem. When I click on an icon to use it within one of my expansion bars (whether they be travel, mounts, tools, or weapons), it will remove that icon and place it in the first slot (the slot that determines whether the extension goes left or right). So, unless I have a duplicate somewhere in the extension bar, I have to reload that icon back into the extension bar. So that first icon always get changed with whatever you click on within the bar. When I first used this plugin, I don't remember that happening.

Is anyone having the same issue or is it supposed to be that way...or...am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Re: Solution.

Quote:
Okay. This is what I figured out to solve the problem.

Find this file: TonicBarSettings.plugindata
In this folder: ...The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\(user name)\(server name)\AllCharacters

Open it with notepad. Delete the section that is the profile of whatever character has the problem. My character's name is Fainrandir, so delete this part:

["Fainrandir"] =
{
["defaultsCreated"] = true,
["wrapperSettings"] =
.
.
.
.
},
["barMode"] = 3.000000,
["menuLanguage"] = "en"
},

through that part.

Save the file. Open up lotro. Log onto that character. And load TonicBars. It should now load just fine. It will have all the default stuff, so you'll have to redo your setup. I was lucky because I already had the setup on a different toon, so I just loaded the quick bars of that toon onto Fainrandir. Now everything works fine again. Hope this helps.
THANK YOU! This worked perfectly, It's great to have it back and to know how to fix it if it happens again!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one getting this error. Everything else seems to work fine, though I doubt I use it as extensively as some. It's just annoying to have to move my inventory bars on every login or they'll remain at (0,0) on-screen. Upon moving, they do stay put for the current session, after throwing the "compare string with number" error.

I should probably look into learning LUA ... I'd get down into the code, but, as it is, I get sidetracked by what appears to be obfuscation.

dragging quickslots around on the screen also gives me the error from my previous post:

Re: Tonic Bars load error

Quote:
I'm having the exact same problem as Laerelwen. When trying to load tonic bars, I get "...s Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\Bars\BarManager.lua :148: attempt to call method 'RegisterBarExtension' (a nil value)"

I love this plugin so much, I'm having a hard time playing without it. If anyone knows the problem, let us know!

I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but this happened shortly after trying to load one extension bar from another character to my current one.
While I'm not glad you're having troubles too, I'm glad to know that it isn't just me! Now that you mention it, I did load my extension bars from another character onto my new one before logging off the night I started her. When I logged back on the next day, the plugin wouldn't work on my new character, so maybe it does have something to do with it!

I tried uninstalling and re-installing two more times but it still gives me the error

error help

I love this plugin! It has always worked perfectly for me until today. I created a new character yesterday and want to use the plugin for her and it worked fine last night.
I also used the Plugin Compenduim to update my plugins this morning. Now tonicbars won't work. I deleted the tonicbars folder then reinstalled in case the auto update messed wit something but still am getting this error:

...s Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\Bars\BarManager.lua :148: attempt to call method 'RegisterBarExtension' (a nil value)

This only happens on my new character, the plugin still loads on my original one.

I'm plugin illiterate so I'm not sure what to do about this! I need this plugin though so I hope you can help! Thank you!

I have to reset triggers for single slot bars as well.

I go back into the trigger menu deselect then reselect the trigger (ie wounded or poisoned etc) it will stay and work until I logout.

If I do the above deselect/reselect then hit "set" next to the quickslot name I get the error:

...d of the Rings Online\Plugins\Tonic\UI\MenuUtils.lua:192: attempt to compare string with number
Just to confirm as DaBear78 said quickslots are keeping the inventory contents on re-log since U6.
