General Overview of the Hobbit UI skin

Description
Made for The Lord of the Rings Online: Rise of Isengard
Version 1.15, 22 April 2012
Created by "Wicked Mouse"

The name "Delving Hills" given to this skin refers to the Shire obviously, as this skin tries to emit the homely athmosphere from the Shire Folk.

==============={ v1.15 }=================
Date: 22 April 2012

Added:
- Anniversary portrait vitals (show off your status in style!).

Changed:
- Fixed the vital bugs that were appearing with the changes to the vitals

==============={ v1.14 }=================
Date: 18 January 2012

Added:
- Barter Wallet graphics.
- Vault textures (observant users would have noticed that with previous version most of it was already there).

Changed:
- Quest log header.
- Trait panel errors are fixed, some textures didn't show up (thanks to Adra for pointing them out, made it easy to fix!).

==============={ v1.13 }=================
Date: 16 January 2012

Added:
- Missing Deed tabs.
- Skirmish traits panel.
- Missing system buttons.

Changed:
- Character Journal graphics according to the journal overhaul.
- Virtue trait pips (changed them to the max rank 12, plus added number 11 and 12).

==============={ v1.12 }=================
Date: 11 January 2011

Added:
- Green background bar at equipped class traits (forgot to add the code actually).
- Map quest track window

Changed:
- Put the two different skin directory in one common directory. Functionality hasn't changed, but is more neat

this way.
- Money background in character journal.
- A wooden background at the vault and shared vault.
- I think I skrewed something up with the code for the equipped traits backgrounds, so I made sure all was working as I intended it to work.

==============={ v1.11 }=================
Date: 15 December 2010

Added:
- Trait panel graphics
- v1.10 patch included

Changed:
- New Skill graphic
- Removed "Large Crafting Panel" modifications, returning it to default settings
- Removed graphic files no longer used in the crafting panel

==============={ v1.10 }=================
Date: 11 October 2010

Added:
- Background images (top and/or bottom) for various windows (including the quest log).
- Enedwaith tab.
- Rare monster level indicator background.
- Ready check

Changed:
- Size of mail inbox and vendor window has been increased with the use of Mirarkitty's Firefern code.
- Size of the Dressing Room has been increased, with the use of the code from Daimon's Durin's Folk Revisted,

which is based on Mirarkitty's Firefern code.
- Size of Auction Panel has been increased, with the use of Thrashfinger's code of "Larger Auction Panel", and

graphics changed a bit.
- All Deed log tabs have been resized according to the new (smaller) standards.
- Mainbar and small mainbar have been changed according to the new standards (7 buttons on the right instead of 5, plus LOTRO Store) and graphics updated.

Probably some more minor things I cannot think of right now.

==============={ v1.05 }=================
Date: 20 May 2010

Changed:
- Crafting Panel has been enlarged and layout of it has been altered with the use of Amalise Tweaks code.

Date: 24 Febuary 2010

Changed:
- Optimized the mini mainbar for Siege of Mirkwood.

(older version info has been archived in Archive.txt)

==========={ User Agreement }============
(Last revised 10/05/2007)

If you use any of my work, all I ask for is clear acknowledgement of it in any and all of your descriptions and ReadMe files, that's not much to ask is it?

1. You agree to this agreement by downloading and using any and all files and intellectual property included in this software package.
2. You agree to NOT discredit any author of any or all of their original software included be it code, graphics, any other assets or intellectual property.
3. You agree to NOT hold any author responsible for any damage, data loss or any problems caused directly or indirectly by this software.
4. You agree to NOT use any material included for monetary gain, as it is against Turbine's EULA agreement and it is NOT your right to make money off of other author's work.
5. You may redistribute any and all files contained in this package ONLY if they remain unmodified, this user agreement is included and proper credit to any and all authors is given.
6. You may modify and redistribute any and all files contained in this compilation ONLY with the expressed written permission of any and all respective authors.
7. If you do not agree to any of the points above then delete any and all files included in this package as well as past and future versions, by doing this you are agreeing to NOT use, modify and redistribute any and all material that is a part of this package for any purpose.

Translation: Do not take my work, use it to make a new skin and then do nothing to acknowledge the use of my work. While it is very flattering to see my work used throughout many other themes and many of you actually acknowledge it in your descriptions (thanks!), it is quite annoying and discouraging to find "new" skins using my work without a single mention of doing so and in some cases even bragging about all original work made from scratch, please do not do this, all it does is detract me from releasing updates more often.

==========={ Installation }==============

1. Exit the game (the included XML file only gets loaded at start-up)

2. A. Extract all the files from the ZIP file making sure the option to "use folder names" is enabled; The

folder on your computer you should select as the destination will be: ..\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings

Online\
B. Use Windows ZIPPED file as a folder (no extracting required then) and copy the ZIP file to ..\My

Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\

3. When you chose to extract the ZIP file you should now have the following folder:
..\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\Delving Hills\

4. All images and the skin definition files will be inside their respective folders if extracted (properly).

5. Launch the game

6. Once in-game, go to OPTIONS then choose "UI Settings" from the menu on the right, once there scroll down to just above the new UI scale sliders to the UI Settings page and you will find a dropdown list where you can choose the UI Skin to use for that character.

7. Enjoy!

P.S. At first use, you will need to restart the LOTRO client in order to let the position and size changed to take effect.
P.P.S. With using the the small mainbar version, you might have to change its position if you're using a different resolution than I do (instructions are in the SkinDefinition.xml file).

Thank you . The character portraits are excellent.

(No I don't imagine you expected it to be used on a creep; it works fine though. I guess if I played creep regularly I'd want something appropriate, but I like the contrast.)

Haha, on your creep? It wasn't really intended to be used there, so quite some stuff may not appear skinned =)

As for the wallet, I was quite gutted to see how they just turned the whole barter wallets into a list of items, after what I mde of it. Indeed I have to rework it. So I will.

The tab buttons for cosmetic outfits I didn't find, so I left them for what they are for the time being. But there are definately still elements out there that scream for updating or being made, but I do not always find the time or energy to do it

I hope they will release the new art pack soon! Then I'll definately update some and add the new 1 to 5 year portraits too.

I love this skin; I use it on all my chars - yes even the creeps .
Thanks for the update .

Just a couple of things:
* the cosmetic tabs look unfinished around the slot names on the right - could just be me I guess.
* the barter wallet has changed rather significantly & doesn't work too well now - mainly it's hard to read, but it doesn't seem to line up correctly either.

I'll be interested to see what happens with the portrait changes in 6.1 - I was quite looking forward to my new one, then realised I might not be able to see it at all - I may have to see if I can work out which bit of code to remove for now.

For the Dwarves there is the Durin's Folk skin and when you go through the list of LOTRO Complete Sets you may find skins suitable for Men and Elves as well

My Elves, Humans and Dwarf will just have to slum it (and in most cases duck) with the Hobbit skin for now then ... I can be patient though, especially when the view is so nice.

Thank you for the kind words It's a pleasure to hear it gives you such extra joy to play The Lord of the Rings Online with it. As there were already solid attempts to get close to the Elven, Dwarvish and Men spirit, I felt that I only was missing the Hobbit one and took the opportunity to work on it. I've been asked to make an Elvish one but I lack the real inspiration to complete it (I only have some small bits) and present something of the same caliber as my Hobbit UI skin

This is a stunning skin, since installing it every window I open up has raised a smile of pleasure. Thank you for such an excellent and beautiful piece of work.

Do you have any plans to make variations for other races at all?

Well spotted! Changed it now, so it will be in the next update, next to the planned barter wallet.
In one I also noticed that I wrote "traits_state..", instead of "trait_states.."

There's a little error :

you should replace <Mapping ArtAssetID="traits_states
by <Mapping ArtAssetID="trait_states

Thanks! Yeah I noticed that it was in your collection and I've seen you mentioned it all. Thank you for that. And I'm honoured that you wanted to incorporate it like that!

I was wondering if you were planning an update at any point?
I've had someone saying that before and it turned out to be just the fact that it shows like that the first time you use it. As the Auction House involves some changes to the layout it needs the LOTRO client to be restarted, with the skin active on your character, to load the layout changes. This goes for all the layout changes I've implemented that differantiate from the standard positions and sizes.
