Show all active UI Elements in Navigation Panel
Feature #: 34

Status: Wont add Feature
If the user has several UI Elements displayed at the same time only the last one can be identified because it's name is still currently listed in the Element Navigation Panel. Altering the function to show all active, displayed UI Elements in bold would provide the user with a limited number of items to check when trying to continue editing.

Not sure I understand this one completely. This could just be a naming convention problem. When I say UI Element, I mean a single element within a complete 'window', like an button. A complete window I call a UI Panel.

When I load a skin, Panels start hidden, but all elements within a panel will be visible. The only way an element will become hidden is if the user hides it by setting the visible properly to false, or pressing the 'S' key. Simply selecting another element in the Nav Panel will not change the visible status of an element. So basically, when I load a skin, all the elements in the navigation tree would start bold.

Did you mean you want the items in the Panel Selection list to be bold when the Panel is visible?

Yes, naming is at issue here. I would like all displayed UI Panels to appear in bold within the Panel Selection, or be shown in the Element Navigation. I'm not sure which might be easier for the user to understand. Or for you to implement.

This is the opposite of the Hide All request. The user wants and needs to have multiple UI Panels showing for some reason (graphic look & feel comparison, accurate placement, etc), but might not remember all of the UI Panel names. However, if all of the displayed UI Panels are bold, the user has an easier task.

I think this topic can be combined with the "OnMouseover tooltip / identifier" request. Please see that for additional comments.

If I can get the mouse picking part working it should solve some of the problems.

The standard combobox control used to select each panel does not allow for setting individual items bold, so that won't be done.

For now, I am going to set this as not going to implement, but I will leave it on the list.
