Equipment Remover

I know we can remove equipment manually, and I know we can equip stuff from the quickbars if we put the items on it. What I want to know is:

Is it possible to make an addon that will automatically remove the item when I click an alias quickbar button or an addon button?

I just want something that will remove shields.

If its possible, could someone make me such an addon? Please and thanks.

Technically, this isn't an XML issue so it should be under a different forum.

That said, while it is feasible to create an addon that would unequip an item, it's an awful lot of work for something that can be done just by opening the character panel and dragging the shield to inventory. The other issue is that using a plugin for it at this point in time would potentially open the door to the "crash to desktop" inventory bug since you'd have to use the Backpack:PerformItemDrop() method which would mean accessing the Backpack item which is what seems to be causing many of those nasty crashes. I know that I won't be putting any time into backpack related plugins until Turbine fixes that crash bug - the out-of-synch bug was annoying, but crashing the client is unacceptable for me

Ah right... forgot about the ctd bug... well... I can wait until it gets fixed.

I know I can just open the inventory and drop it in myself, but its like the helm/cloak thing... Its an awful lot of work for an RP-related issue. :|
