Well hopefully they can figure out a way to tag them such that we can tell the difference moving forward. To me, there is a big difference between a "Chip's Toolbar" that just has pictures of Chip and his cat, vs one that puts all the travel abilities in one place so they don't suck up 210 hot key spaces. Or some of those neat radial health bars and potion timer things I saw. Hopefully when they open up more functionality, we'll be able to do even more, and the gap between 'skin' and 'plug-in' will be much more apparent.

Not to trivialize skins and the work that goes into them, I just don't want to have to rifle through skins to find those things which actually help me do things in the game.

By the way, I saw a short video of a plug-in manager somewhere. Where is that? That should be a big link right in the middle of the home page

cstm: Hey that's a neat video, where do you get that plug-in manager?
cstm: lotrointerface.com will most likely have it.

Now we just need to have people spread the word so that people come here. I'll be modifying my LOTRO Forums signature for that as soon as the forums come up today .

Yep, I'm waiting for them to come up, too, so I can copy over my news post.

Apparently the patch didn't d/l the folders and Turbine files need to run the plugins.

Mine are working fine from Beta, but my wife. not in Beta, doesn't have the folders. We made folders but still no access to the one plugin we have for her.

I really would have thought they'd include the default stuff with the patch

That's good to note perhaps in installation instructions for general public release that those folders are not there. I'd have had the same problem, as while both my wife and I were in beta, she didn't play it much (preferring to focus on alts on live LOL) and I didn't download any plugins for her.

I use the Shady one and works great. Didn't try Frosty's because he was still working heavily on it at the time.

When the main forums come up I'll have to look again, but I don't remember seeing anyplace on the live side to load the folders/files.

Everything was on the Beta Forums... Hopefully they put the d/ls up on the live side with this maint.
