Re: Re: Update 15 issues

I have narrowed down my Update 15 issues to this LUA plugin Combat Analysis. It is especially unstable in Big Battles. Please update this plugin.

Well that is just dandy. How can I tell what your issues are, certainly I nor any one else have reported any. If you have issues please state them, don't leave me guessing.
---

In Big Battles I will frequently get a flashing black screen for 1-2 seconds. It is brief but enough to be disruptive. I only have this happen when I am fullscreen. If I run in windowed mode this issue does not happen.

I am running Windows 7 Pro x64 with most LoTRO settings at medium. 12 gb memory and nVidia GeForce 570 GTX.

However, if I run in fullscreen but with CombatAnalysis unloaded then I do not get the flashing black screen.

Does that information help at all? Is there anything else that I can do to help?

Beorning

I have unfortunately found paying work recently, hwada you know someone figured that a +60 year old knows something about computer science!

Well that means I have to choose between playing and updating CA with the new toon. Being that I am in programing mode, I would like to add Beoning to CA in my copious amounts of spare time.

To do this I need all the attack phrases with their damage given in the combat window chat.

Would peeps please provide me with these phrases, please?

Thanks!

Re: It needs fixing

An unhappy "Feature" which I have now documented above but need to solve. The X means take this window away and I never want to see it again. Yes that's how it works in windows but not what either of us expect in a LUA plugin.

So now that you have exercised your X you must build a new window. Open the Lotro Plugin manager (in the LoTRO System menu), select CA and select the options tab. Now you will see the General, UI, Buffs, and About tabs, select UI.

This yields 3 more tabs called Tabs, Windows and Stats. Select Windows.

Drag as many squares representig tabs on your new window as you wish to see. When you drag the first tab into the box it will create a window. Then you may either add tabs to that window or make new windows containing other tabs.

Don't worry, once you hit that X three or four times you never do it again

I am not all that familiar with LUA, yet, but I don't think I can remove the X, so I am open to any suggested improvements to this scheme.

There is a faster alternative but not as nice... Choose the ABOUT tab and select the "Restore Settings" button. Then the default window set appears mid screen.
Thanks for the quick reply I tried both methods and both worked. The second was actually what I was looking for but by you explaining the first method, now I know more about configuring your plug in.

Thanks again

I know nothing about programing for LUA. but perhaps you can put something in the menu when you right click the icon to restore just this other window.

I see your logic in this. CA has had this information available for many years. Making the removal of this displayed information an option makes sense. I hope you understand there are many more pressing issues with the plugin, but I have added your request as a plugin enhancement.

Thanks!

How do I get the CA overview panel back after clicking the "X"? I tried using command "/ca show" but that makes everything disappear. I also tried removing the plug in and replace it with a fresh download, still no joy.

thanks in advance

Thanks for updating this.

I like the cumulative average dps.

Please give us a way to omit the encounter damage done, which is between the encounter dps and the cumulative average dps. It is already shown in the other window.

Thanks.

Hi Magil,

Turns out I needed to include the plugincompendium AND lunarwtr had to make a adjustment to the update tool. So all is good now! Thanks for the heads up.

Ok... it is working now. (I.e. LPC can see it.)

I'm not certain which "fix" was the magic -- simply time or eliminating "execute" on the two plugin descriptor files.

However, CA is now listed in:
http://api.lotrointerface.com/fav/plugincompendium.xml

It shows up in LPC (i.e. the Java version)
http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...=689#cmnt16133
And is now managed.

One other thing I changed, but it made no immediate impact --
visit: http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...nfo.php?id=663
and in the description of the plugincompendium format you will see
that < {PluginConfig> has an extended description.

plugincompendium

The new Combat Analysis is not visible to Lunerwater's LPC (Java version.)

I'm not certain how the "first time" exposure happens, but minimally, I believe it is missing the ".plugincompendium" file.
Indeed you are correct, magill. I did not know what the plugincompendium file was so I did not include it as a matter of safety.

The sad thing is that I still don't know what a plugincopendium file is. My searches on Lunerwater LPC has turned up nothing but your particular post.

Meanwhile, 4.3.4 is submitted with the file. I hope retaining the old ID works.

UPDATE: I found LPC and lunarwtr and sent the modified plugincompendium for a quick check

I believe the addon has to be marked as favourite by a specific user account used by LPC.

You can add the addons you are interested in to your own favourite list and set up this list in LPC, then only plugins you favourited are managed.
