Patches & Addons
Hey lunarwtr, would there be any way of detecting patches (and possibly addons) in LPC? There are a few of the plugins whose authors have left the game and subsequently their plugins have been orphaned but picked up by another author. The problem though is that their updates don't show as revisions but instead as patches and therefore don't get updated in LPC.
Case in point is Palantir which was originally by Digital_Utopia but has been picked up by Snoopy. Snoopy has done some nice updates and revisions to it but they all show as patches. Would there be any way for LPC to recognize these?
I have no idea how much work that would entail or if it is even possible but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. Luv the LPC and appreciate all the work you've put into it.

Re: Installing plugin does not work: 7-zip problem?
Quote:
I've just installed the plugin compendium and wanted to install the Moormaps as first plugin. Download is successful, however installation goes wrong:
Problem while installing plugin MoorMap
Can not load 7-zip library or internal COM error! Message: Your 7-zip library does not support this archive type.
Weird thing is that when I open the zip file manually it works like a charm. So there's no problem with the actual library at all.
Also, when I click okay after that message, the compendium tells me the plugin has been installed successfully and it's also listing the plugin in the installed plugins tab...
It's... confusing. Does it normally do that?
Oh, my computer works on windows XP.
I've just tried to install two other plugins (alt inventory and Tonicbars) and I get the same message. it seems that Moormaps was "installed successfuly" due to the fact that I tried to unzip it myself.
What causes this problem? Unfortunately right now the compendium doesn't work for me, which is too bad, cause it seems like a perfect program!

It works for me on Windows XP. You aren't using XP 64 by chance are you?

It looks like the zip files contains one too many folders in it. From what I can tell, Moonborn should be your parent folder, but Slugtimer_101 is. If I add it to plugin compendium, it will unzip and place a folder called Slugtimer_101 into the Plugins folder, which I don't think will work the way you'd desire.

Re: A Request for Inclusion

I just updated Busy Bees (originally by Bosko, previously patched by Phantasm8),
to add the tasks for Moria. The plugincompendium file is up to date and the
version numbers (1.3.5) have been updated. Although I added the file as a
patch, it will install as an update or new install. Please let me know what I need
to do next in order to make this program current through PC, it would be great
to see it getting used.

I added it, but I had to remove the original busy bee tasks for it to work. Please test and let me know if all is well.

Re: Feature request
Quote:
Im loving the compendium, thanks for making this!
There is one feature i'm kinda missing.
It would be nice to have a "view" button for the currently selected plugin on the "installed plugins" tab. So I can go to the site of an updated plugin to see what has changed.
Now i have to go to the "add new plugins" tab, disable "hide installed" and find the updated plugin in the long list, select it and click "view".
Would be great to have that "view" link in the installed plugins list aswell!
Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the feedback. Sound like great ideas

EDIT: Got the linux/mac version working, so unless the above is fixed, then i'll stay with this one, but nice program anyhows

Sorry you experience problems.
Glad you found a work around. Some questions and/or things to try would be... - Could you list the exact error message or screenshot of what windows shows you?
- Did you upgrade any software or perform updates to your computer recently?
- Can you try right clicking and choosing "Run as Administrator" and see if that help?
- If that doesn't please check that your pc has .NET 3.5 installed. That is essential for it to work.
