Ah yes, actually both plugins use a fixed layer number. Not sure what my original reasoning was behind that. However, you can test if it helps to comment that line (which essentially leaves it as default). So open the file in a text editor (Notepad if nothing else is available) and look for a line:
self:SetZOrder(50);
It should be line ~109 in Lotropad and ~106 in Songbook.
You can comment (disable) it by adding two '-' characters in front of it. For example:
--self:SetZOrder(50);
Naturally, you'll have to reload the plugin for the change to apply. Let me know if that changes anything .

Awesome plugin, my favorite! I applied the above suggestion and works great for me, now my bags come up over the top of it. Thanks!

Like Iluviel however I do have a request. Any chance we could get the plugin resizable? Or at least a wider version? I too use it for RP, keeping elven phrases and their translations in it, however some longer phrases are broken up badly and don't copy well.

Hi, and thanks for the feedback. Though it is not too apparent, you can resize the window by dragging it from the bottom right corner. Hopefully that will work for you.

Thanks for the feedback . An update to Lotropad has been brewing for quite a long time in the back of my brain. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. And I am still a bit unsure on how to go about it. However, the plan was to majorly increase the number of notes. Not sure about infinite though hehe.

Hello there,
this is a very nice plugin that helps me a lot with roleplaying
(I keep my character's correspondence saved in Lotropad ).
I just want to ask - is there any chance of having infinite
pages instead of just 10? Perhaps in an update in the [near] future?
Thank you

problem solved
Hi, thank you.
I got it back JUHU
Yes, the problem was that I changed my Account name, but after renaming the folder with the new name I got my memory on lotro pad back.
I actually found it by mistake, while I was looking for a log file where the names in the launcher drop down menu where saved. I wanted to get rid of the old account names, and serching for these names on my hard drive brougth me to the plugins data folders.
Any way, thank you for your help.
I am happy again.

Re: Where is the data saved?
It might not be lost actually. When you migrated your account, your account name probably got changed? In that case it might be that plugin data remains under the old account on your hard drive.
Look for this directory:
c:\Users\<windows user>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<old lotro account name>\AllServers\
Then copy everything there to:
c:\Users\<windows user>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<new lotro account name>\AllServers\
(The directory names should be like that in Vista and W7, XP is a bit different)
And hopefully it's as simple as that .
Edit: Forgot to add that some plugins might save things per server or per character so you might want to check some other directories there as well.

Lotropad stays on top
I've been using Lotropad and it has become indispensable for me. I've nearly filled every tab with everything from crafting information to auction house pricing guides, to just random notes and house locations of friends.
The one problem that I've constantly had with this plugin is the fact that it stays on top of my other programs. Having the 'minimode' is nice, but having to click the little feather icon when I need to look at what is under the pad can get annoying.
Same thing really for the Songbook. The most convenient place for the songbook is on the right of my screen, directly above where I keep my inventory, and so switching instruments gets clunky when I have to minimize the songbook etc...
If there were a way to allow these plugins to move to the background layers, then they'd take the 11 on the scale of 1-10. Thanks again for such useful plugins!

In a blank note, try adding a few blank lines then go back and enter text. It won't go where you put the cursor. Go to the end of an existing line of text, hit Enter, and start typing. This does not behave as expected. Try these same things in the Post Comment window here and see how it works.

Yes, I'm aware of this. Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about it aside from Turbine fixing it. I can just put a text field on the plugin but I cannot affect how it reacts to character input or mouse clicks. It just works how it works :-/.
I hope the plugin can still be useful to you and the annoyances aren't too much of a problem .

editing oddity
This is a very nice plugin, but it behaves oddly when editing existing text. Adding new lines in the middle of a note moves the cursor unexpectedly and enters text somewhere else.

Hm, yes it should scale when you drag from the bottom right corner. It shouldn't be character specific though. I can have a look at this.
There's also the minimode which you can toggle by right-clicking the plugin icon.

Re: pls help
Quote:
Have got this plugin and songbook installed, both work brilliantly.
Have been trying to help a couple of kinnies install too, the one of them now has both installed and working fine, the other kinnie only wanted Lotropad but it won't work for her. She appears to have everything in the correct place directory structure wise but in-game it just says no plugin is available.
She's on windoze Vista so I believe the directory structure should be exactly the same but still can't figure out the issue.
|
Not sure what the issue might be, but it's likely related to the directory structure. I wrote a couple of things about it here: http://chiran.lotrointerface.com/por...a=faq&faqid=17
