Max Window Button doesn't work
Bug #: 56
File: LOTRO Skin Editor
Date: 11-23-2011 08:46 PM
By: Modnar
Status: Cant Reproduce
Start the application normally. Press the standard Maximize Window button. The application is placed in full window mode.

Press the Maximize Window button again. The application should revert back to either the last window size that the user manually set (dragging the borders) or a pre-set application dependent default window size. (Regardless of which applies, it should shrink down in size.)

Currently pressing the Maximize Window for the second time does not shrink the application window. Instead the Min/Max/Close 'gadget' shifts upwards about half it's current height. The other buttons work correctly. The Application Name on the left side of the window stays unchanged.

Although a bit annoying, it is mostly cosmetic.

Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit. Using Aero. 1920 x 1080 monitor.

I think I saw this happen to me once, however I cannot replicate it at this time. It could be difficult to understand since the maximize window button code is handled internal to windows, it is not something I control in my code.

The only thing I do perform is saving the window size and location, so there might be something happening with the saved settings, but I can't confirm it right now.

I will keep an eye on this and see if I can find something, but for right now I don't think I can.

The max window button behavior is totally new to me. Something that I have not seen previously. Please let me know if you cannot replicate.

However, this may very well be security settings related (a read/write file access violation) on my end. This is something I had not considered but now that you mention writing the window size to a file it raises question in my mind. I will see if I can double-check things on my end as well.

BTW, I'm set as a Limited User Account, not an Admin, on Windows 7.

I don't actually manually write the saved options/settings to a file. There are built in functions in C# for managing saved settings. They do get writing to a file in the following location:
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\By__Dhor_of_Elen dilmir

Maybe running the new version (0.61 posted today) will sort the problem out, but if not, you could try to go into that folder and delete all the folders to start fresh.
