Well, not all plugins have icons. For instance, Wallet does not have an icon. Wallet has a setup window which is accessed by entering the chat command "/wallet setup" as indicated in the plugin description on the download page. On the setup window you set which currencies you want to display and how you want them grouped. Once they are set to show they will be displayed on screen and can be moved with the standard Ctrl+\ functionality.
The icons shown in the manager are just part of the plugin description and may not display in-game. You will have to read the instructions on each plugin's download page to determine how to configure them as each plugin can be different.
