Removing certain UI elements
Hello, new poster here.
I have never used a plugin for LOTRO before so I may be out on the deep end here. The standard game options allow me to remove names, numbers, flags and other such elements, some find them handy and useful but personally I find them quite a bit distracting. I am looking for a way to disable the targeting circles and the green star spotlights that are under the feet of skirmish soldiers and escort npc's However these elements I cannot seem to find any options to remove, so I'm wondering if it's possible with a plugin, and if so, if any such plugin exist. I asked for help over at the official Turbine forums first, but the only replies I got where recommendations why I should leave them be. While their concern for my gameplay was appreciated, noone seemed able to help me with my acctual request. Hoping for better luck here. Thanks ! |
Hi.
There's no way to remove them. Your only option is to request this from Turbine. |
Thank you !
Finally I get an answer that's acctually useful. Too bad though, chances of getting a suggestion or request implemented seems rather slim. |
Remove UI elements
How about removing the vital bar? I use palantir and dont want my vital bar
|
I am almost certain there is an option in Palantir to remove the default vitals.

Code:
LotroUI.SetEnabled(Turbine.UI.Lotro.LotroUIElement.Vitals, false); Note: This is for info on how to do it without using the Palantir plugin. |
Currently via Lua, you can hide the default vitals, and override the default bags. At some point I'd imagine they'd add to that, but this was introduced in the beginning, and nothing more has been added to that list since then.
However...it's worth pointing out that while you can hide the default vitals for yourself, there is still no effective way of replacing the functionality of the right click context menu. While recently they introduced some functionality that's supposed to allow you to make any Lua created UI element show such a menu, it currently (surprise surprise!) doesn't work like it should for your own character. More specifically - it shows you the same menu you would have for your character if you targeted yourself and clicked on those vitals, as opposed to the menu it shows by clicking on your vitals. Which - ironically (or not, based on recent history) and like I said, are the only vitals you can currently hide. |
