Sorting Friends list

By the time you hit 75 with 1 character you have 20+ friends. God knows who some of them are, you haven't talked to some of them since level 5. If you have 9 alts then you might have 100+ friends, 1/2 of whom you don't know anymore, nor do you know which toon of yours it is that knows them.

Having a plugin to fix this seems to be the only way. The ability to sort by Character which friend this guy is from. The ability to ad notes so you know why he was made a friend to begin with. With such a tool you could even add blacklisted people as friends and sort them into a blacklisted category.

The ability to create your own categories to sort players into once they are your friends. Such an plugin I image would grow over time as more and more uses can be made from it, including integration with other plugins.

There is no Lua access to the in-game Friends list, nor any access to character info such as which characters are on line. So, such a plugin would have some significant limitations.

There is already a Note column in the built in friends list. Granted it's pretty short, but it's there and you can sort on it as well so if you enter the info you are most interested in sorting on at the start of each note, you could resolve two of your requests with that one column.

There is also the Ignore list which can be used as a blacklist if you don't want to use the Friends list for blacklisting - it also has a sortable Note column.

I would recommend using the built-in lists until Lua gets access to either the logged in status of characters or access to the built-in Friends list.
