LUA Plugins
All the threads I have read say all you have to do is place the (insert name of plugin here) folder in the Plugins folder that you created. Simply doing that does not work, are there other files that need to be placed in the folder in order to run said plugin?

Here is a guide to installing plugins.
http://www.lotrointerface.com/wiki/How_to_use_plugins You will also need the turbin plugin pack which can be found here. http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...Lua-UI-scripts Hope this helps.:D -p |
Sometimes
Some of them are requiring the turbine plugins which can be found at http://content.turbine.com/sites/lot..._LuaPlugins.7z. The plugin you are trying to use should have it documented whether this is the case

Simply extracting the files that LOTRO provided and placing it in the plugins folder doesn't work. There has to be a step by step process instead of just copy and paste and you are good to go. That's not working for me.

Do you happen to be on the EU client?
|
No, i'm Gladden server

If you follow the links above that i replied with, it shows you step by step how you need to install the plugins, verify that you are installing them in the proper directory, then once in game you need to load the plugins which is also in the links. which addon are you trying to use?
|
A friend of mine was having an issue where rather than extracting here (or the plugins folder) they were hitting extract to "name_of_plugin\". This basicly makes an additional folder and won't work when copying this over. Open the folder you intend to copy over to the plugins folder and check to see if there is a file in there with an .plugin extension. There should be one in there.

The directions from the website are extremely vague, i have tried every configuration of files in different folders and still not working. It keeps telling me that i have no available plugins.

If you can join us in irc #lotrouidev on freenode.net maybe i can walk you through it.

Is it possible that running the Hi-Def version would be the problem?
|
no, im running the high definition version and i have about 5-6 addons running when playing. a dev just uploaded a program which might help called lotro mod manager, what addons in particular are you trying to run?

Within your My Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/Plugins folder, you should find folders with the Author's names, and within those folders should be one or more <plugin name>.plugin files. So for instance, using Palantir as an example, your folders should look like this
Code:
[ ]My Documents Code:
/plugins load palantir |
I have the folder arranged exactly like u said. /plugins refresh tells me that no plugins are available
|
type /plugins load <plugin name> copy/paste what you get
