Wanted to make you guys aware that there is a site out there that may be hosting your mods without your knowledge or consent. You can see it here (http://www.lordoftherings100.com/Lotro-Interface).

The mods currently up on the site are:

Caldric's Stone Age - Taffu
Glan ACM - JappMe

WoW Style 2.1 - Asghaard

Redistribution of code and graphics without express permission by the author/artist is a violation of copyright. As always, if you want our assistance in helping ensure that your copyright is honoured, we are more than happy to help in any way we can.

If, however, they are posted there with your complete knowledge and consent, then by all means disregard this message.

There are plenty more out there, those were just three examples of a quick Google Search with "cease and desist" as the key words.

Sent removal messages to E-mails and posted on their boards.

*grumbles*

I'd normally think of something witty like "ripping off is flattery of sorts", but instead I'll say this just pisses me off to no end.

Folks, I wont support anyone who comes to me from these other sites asking for help- as a matter of fact my instruction for getting a ui to work for them starts with c:\> format c

I've been following up on this, and it appears that they have removed the copies that they had on their site. I will continue to monitor the site in case they try to do it again after the fuss has calmed down.

Any time anyone sees a site that is hosting UIs and you don't think it is "legitimate", please do come and tell the authors. The only way we can stop copyright infringement is if we all work together to stop it.

Is anyone aware that FileFront is hosting a small number of skins? (and my viewer)

Check it out here:

FileFront (http://software.filefront.com/LotR+Online+Shadows+of+Angmar/;2314;/software_information.html)

Do a quick Google search and you may find some interesting places where your skins are being hosted....

Wanna go kick them for me? :pActually thought of going down there, but what good would it do. The main company is in New York and I find it amusing they have a reuse and proper linking policy section on their corporate pages. Funny they don't apply the same courtesy to others.

I sent them an email asking them to remove the file. Later, I think I will post a comment on the page linking back here. I do hope they remove it.
