Description
Description
This plugin is a custom remake of the original Group Manager plugin.
This plugin allows you to save group setups (friends, raiding groups, etc.)
and keep track of your previous group members with the ability to invite them back quickly with a click of a button.

How to Use
To start using Team Organizer find yourself a fellowship or a raid and click the 'Get Players' button.
This action will display all the current players in the group, clicking the button again will update the players in the group.

If you are the leader of your group, you can invite players by clicking the green area next to the player's name.

If you wish to disband a player from the group, you can click the red button next to the players name (requires "enable dismiss button" from settings).

If you wish to promote a player to raid assistant, you can click the blue button next to the players name (requires "enable promote button" from settings).

If you closed the plugin window you can bring it back by typing command "/team" into chat
or by creating a shortcut which toggles the plugin window's visibility by typing the following command into the chat.

(English) : /shortcut 1 /team
(German) : /kurztext 1 /team
(French) : /raccourci 1 /team

This command will generate a hotkey to the 1st slot of your skillbar, which allows you to toggle plugin window's visibility by using it.

If you wish to add, remove or change players you can use the buttons below the 'Get Players' button.
If you wish to save or load a group you can use the buttons at the bottom of the plugin window.

Re: Re: Re: Plugin bugged

Unfortunately I am not sure how to solve the issue you are having. The plugin itself seems to work, but there is something preventing your game from saving the data. You could ask in general Lotrointerface or Lotro forums about this issue if you feel like it's worth it.

Things you could test are running the game in administrator mode and making sure anti virus is not preventing the saving. Also checking does this happen only with this plugin or does the original group manager also cause the same issue (https://www.lotrointerface.com/downl...upManager.html).

Re: Re: Plugin bugged

Hi, Henna
Thank you your for your reply.

So, I disabled Documents folder backup on my Desktop PC, where I play Lotro regularly, and moved all folders and files to "normal" Documents folder.
Then I started the game and checked if the "Get Players" button works (being in fellowship), and it does not. I checked Lotro folder for "TeamOrganizer_Main_Settings.plugindata" and "TeamOrganizer_SavedGroups.plugindata". All are missing. Only "TeamOrganizer_GroupMembers.plugindata" was found by me and it contains:
return
{

}

Next day I check it on my laptop (Windows 10 x64), where OneDrive backup was turned off when I was installing the game (I installed the game on my laptop one day before the day I sent you my first message), and where no other plugins installed (to exclude incompatibility). Lotro folder was placed into "normal" Document folder by default.
I tested it on my laptop without source code changes in TeamOrganizer/Scripts/Reloader.lua. And tested it with source code changes in TeamOrganizer/Scripts/Reloader.lua. In both cases "Get Players" button still does not work (Just in second case I was waiting for several seconds till team organizer window appears and moves in its default position after clicking on the "Get Players" button).
On my laptop I did not found any "TeamOrganizer_....plugindata" file before and after all these manipulations. I did not even find "AllCharacters" folder.

From this point I will test other changes only on my Laptop (Windows 10 x64 Pro ENG (US region), no OneDrive Backup, no other plugins installed).

Re: Plugin bugged

Hi!

I've tested the plugin and it seems to work without problems (I do not own windows 11, so I can not test that part, but I don't think it is the issue here).
This looks like an issue to save the plugin data into your system. This explains why the 'get players' button does not save the group and the reload moves the window to it's default position (top right corner).
From code point of view LOTRO only provides one way of saving user data from plugins, so there is nothing I could do to fix this from the plugin's functionality.

Possibe reasons

One reason for this happening could be that saving into OneDrive takes longer than usually causing the plugin to actually reload faster than the file is saved, resulting to plugin to fail loading the data in time.

Could you confirm that the plugindata files are actually properly saved into your OneDrive folder. You should be able to find the following files in:

C:\Users\%username%\OneDrive\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\%username%\%server%\AllCharacter s\TeamOrganizer_Main_Settings.plugindata
and
C:\Users\%username%\OneDrive\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\%username%\%server%\AllCharacter s\TeamOrganizer_SavedGroups.plugindata

If they are saved can you make sure they actually have data in them and not just empty files or clean "return {}" statement.
Let me know are these things working.

Possibe solutions

Incase the issue is that the plugin reloads faster than the data file can be saved, try to overwrite the following code into file: TeamOrganizer/Scripts/Reloader.lua

Code:
import "Turbine";
import "Turbine.UI";

-- Allows the plugin to reload itself --
-- Called by reloader plugin --
delay = 0;
window = Turbine.UI.Window();
window.Update = function()

	-- Unload the plugin
	Turbine.PluginManager.UnloadScriptState("Team Organizer");

	-- Wait 500 frames before reloading the plugin
	delay = delay + 1;
	if (delay < 500) then -- Change the 500 to smaller value to increase response time
		return;
	end

	-- Reload the plugin
	window:SetWantsUpdates(false);
	Turbine.PluginManager.LoadPlugin("Team Organizer");
end
window:SetWantsUpdates(true);
This will add a 500 frames delay to reloading the plugin, the result should be you clicking the button, window disappearing for 500 frames (few seconds) and then popping back up. let me know if this fixes the issue and I will release a proper update supporting this kind of feature. Make sure to refresh the plugins or even restart LOTRO after modifying the file to make sure the new version of the code is being used.

Other solution is to try moving the documents folder out of OneDrive and check does that fix the issue, but I guess that would negate the entire point why you moved it into OneDrive in the first place.

Plugin bugged

It seems like Team Organizer has a bug. "Get Players" button does not work. When I click it, players are not gotten. I thought that some other plugin or plugins cause incompatibility. And I removed all folders from "Plugins" folder and fully removed "PluginData" folder. After I did it, with clicking "Get Players" button the window moves to the top left corner of the screen and players are still not gotten. Also I installed LotRO on my laptop where this was never installed before. And the same problem happened: with clicking "Get Players" button, the plugin window just moves to the top left corner of the screen. Can you please check if everything okey with your plugin?

Free Peoples of Middle-Earth, what do you say? Does it work to you?

P.S.: my "The Lord of the Rings Online" folder is located in OneDrive folder. C:\Users\%username%\OneDrive\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online. But the plugin was always located in this folder and was working properly.

I'm using Windows 11 x64, LotRO client also is x64.

Re: Very nice plugin

Hey, unfortunately we are not able to change the user's chat channel. It could be done by forcing the user to say something in the chat, but I don't feel like that is the right way to do it. I will keep this in my mind for future, incase I find a solution to this, but most likely I will leave the talking to users themselves.

Thanks for the translation help, I updated the translations of the plugin.

Very nice plugin

just stumbled upon this helpful plugin, thank you!

- Maybe it is possible to have a button to IM/PM a single player and buttons to start Group/Raid-Chat?

- wrong German translation for Save-Buttons, please use 'Speichern' instead of 'Sparen'. Because Sparen means i.e.: to save money on sale with 20% off.
