I run the songbook program PRIOR to loading the plugin, and I get a popup window that says it has found 40 .abc files and has created the directory. Yet, when I load the plugin, It says my directory is empty....

Same for me. Win7 64. Although mine says it's found a different number of files.

Still seems to only search the default location - my folder is on the D Drive.
Edit: tried it with the path as second parameter - says that the folder doesn't exist.
Edit: Solved - seems to be a Case problem with the path

Just downed the newer version (.22) and I still get the error that my Music folder does not exist! I double and triple checked to make sure I was following all your instructions and that my Documents folder wasn't on a different drive.
I really want to use this plugin as it looks so awesome and will definitely help with music playing.

I have Win7 64-bit as well and the .vbs file from version 0.22 works. So, I'm not quite sure what might be wrong. It might be related to the case-sensitivity as someone else pointed out.
You can also add the home directory (path to the document directory, that is) as a second parameter and override any defaults if that helps.
I'm working on a version that supports subdirectories.

woot.
Got it to work with the win7 64bit file. Great plugin. No more typing songnames!
Only thing now on my wishlist is reading sub-directories, which I see is on your to-do list. Will be back soon
Thanks so much for your efforts.

Please would you explain the vbs file and how to access it? I am not a programmer and I have read the readme file numerous times and tried several things but after several hours I still cannot figure out what to do to get the songbook up and running. Thank you.

This plugin requires a few extra steps since otherwise it wouldn't be possible at all. So, I hope you bear with me . When you unzip the package according to the instructions, the Songbook.vbs file should be in the plugin directory at c:\Users\<windowsuser>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\ (With windows XP the path is a bit different).
And here's the instructions from a couple posts back.
Easiest way to run the script is:
1) Right click songbook.vbs and choose 'Create a shortcut'. It creates a shortcut file (.lnk). You can rename the file if you like.
2) Right click the created shorcut file, select Properties, click Target field and add a space and your Lotro username at the end. Username is what you use when you log in to Lotro. Plugins use the username as a directory name when saving your plugin settings. The target field should then read, for example: "C:\Users\Chiran\Desktop\songbook.vbs" Chiran Then click Ok.
3) You can then move the shortcut file where ever you like, for example to your desktop. Double clicking the shortcut will run the script. Run it whenever you have added or deleted abc files.
4) Done .

For some reason or other, it cannot save the song database to the correct location. It should try to create the directory if it doesn't exist. However, you could check to make sure it exists. The place it tries to save data to is:
C:\Users\<windowsuser>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<lotrouser>\AllServers\
Above applies for Vista and Windows 7. Windows XP is a bit different.
The database file there is called SongbookData.plugindata.

Is the file empty then? Does it contain anything if you look at it in notepad?
