Description
This plugin creates a single window that contains available travel skills, including race, class, housing, and reputation skills. It is a further development of the "Travel Window" plugin, that has been worked on by multiple authors before.

Since this plugin is a 100% replacement for "Travel Window" you should not have both enabled at the same time. You can keep them both installed though.

The plugin has four modes of operation - icon grid, text list, pulldown list and carousel. These can be switched from the menu that opens when you right-click the plugin. This menu also gives you access to the options window.

Installation:
This is a full plugin and can be installed standalone. Follow the general plugin installation instructions to install Travel Window II or update the install (depends on your OS).
I recommend you install and manage your plugins with the LOTRO Plugin Compendium found at this URL, since it will install plugins cleanly: LOTRO Plugin Compendium App

FAQ:
How can I make a newly learned skill show up in Travel Window II?
These three options work:
  • right-click anywhere on TW II, select "Check untrained skills" from the menu, the skill will show up
  • open options window, go to Enable tab, click "Check untrained skills" button, the skill will show up
  • relog the character

Why does my racial skill show up even though I do not have the racial trait equipped?
  • Because once the trait is acquired, it is classified as a "learned" skill by LOTRO itself, even though it is greyed out. Travel Window II, unfortunately, has no way of knowing if you have the racial trait equipped and the skill is usable. If you are not using the skill permanently, you can use the Enable/Disable options to hide it like any other skill.

How do I use the Carousel mode?
  • Use the mousewheel while hovering over the travel skill icon to change the selected skill.

Version history:

- add: sorting alphabetically by skill label
- add: sorting by zone level
- add: move skill in sort list up/down by 10 slots
- enhance: saving globals properly remembers hunter/mariner/warden skills for those classes
- enhance: smooth out grid resize snapping around a column midpoint
- enhance: remove dependency on Turbine utils, these can be removed if you do not need them for other plugins
- enhance: significantly improved skill data storage in codebase to prevent human mistakes when creating new releases
- fix: saving and loading globals will save properly every time and not mess up sort order
- fix: plugin will load again for creep characters
- fix: updated creep travel skills in EN/DE/FR

Here are some suggestions I posted a couple of years ago but Thaliruth never got around to doing:
  1. Automatically sort alphabetically -- by destination, not skill name (so, "Jarnfast", not "Muster in Jarnfast")
  2. Automatically sort by most-recently-used (the sort should be redone each time you use a skill)
  3. Automatically sort by distance (ditto)
  4. The ability to manually rename skills (e.g. "Return Home 1")

Glad to see that you back on this, and on a new incarnation of it at that.

I was using the original Travel Window just last night and noticed the sorting was all wonky. I was going to post something about it to Thaliruth but I just noticed this evening that there's a new version on the compendium.

I can't help but want to support both projects since I did some work on the original Travel Window plugin in the past.

Locking the toggle button.

Great plugin! I’m a new player but I can see that this is going to save a lot of space on my skill bars, especially for Hunter and Warden.

I could not find a way to lock the position of the little toggle button, and it can be moved whether I have the general UI layout locked or unlocked. Is there a way to lock its position so that it can’t be inadvertently moved?

There is no such option, but this sounds like a feature I should be able to add soon. Added it to my feature request list.

Trouble running travel plugin

I believe I've correctly installed the travel window II plugin to the plugin folder and also the Beta Lua Plugins script.

When I try to run the plugin in game via /plugins load travel I get the following error:
... Online\Plugins\DhorPlugins\Travel\TravelWindow.lua :1029: table index is nil

What does this mean?

EDIT: I was away from my computer and was able to find the clear answer. The command you are using is trying to load Travel Window, not Travel Window II. You have to use
Code:
/plugins load "Travel Window II"
to load Travel Window II. I highly recommend you use the built in plugin manager for convenience rather than using commands for loading plugins though.

missing premium house german client

HI,
in update 1.05 I miss the entry of the premium house. I use the german client. If I change back to version 1.03 I find the premium house in the list.

Hi, thanks for the bug report! I will fix this later today, it is caused by a typo I made.

Danke fuer den Bugbericht, ich werde das heute korrigieren und eine neue Version rausgeben die das behebt, war ein Tippfehler meinerseits. Wahrscheinlich funktionieren die meisten Skills aber nicht in dem Plugin, oder? Ich konnte nicht alle testen aber die Version die ich von Thaliruth uebernommen hab hatte alle deutschen Skills ohne Funktion soweit ich weiss.

Some bugs, v1.0.5beta

I decided to try to configure TravelWindowII for my Hunter today (2021-01-03). It works fine for the most part but I did run into the following things:

1- The "Travel Options" window does not remember its position. (Also, like the toggle button, there is no way to lock its position to prevent inadvertent moves.)

2- Under Travel Options->Select, if I un-check either "Rivendell (Racial)" or "Rivendell (Rep)" the skill display window removes both.

3- The "Return to Camp" skill always sorts to the end of the list even though I have it set to the top of the list in Travel Options->Sort. If I close the Travel Options window and then reopen it, some random travel skill appears at the top of the sort list and "Return to Camp" is back where it was before I moved it (near the bottom).

4- If I attempt to sort "Ost Guruth (Rep)" to a higher position on the list, it moves to the new position on the list but the icon position does not change in the skill display window. If I then close and reopen the "Travel Options" window, "Ost Guruth (Rep)" appears in the lower location from which I had previously moved it rather than where I placed it.

I hope it's OK to post bug reports here. If you would prefer them elsewhere, preferably not some place where I'd have to create a new account, I'll use that other method in the future.

It also seems like for the Icon Grid, the sort button doesn't work as well. Forochel seems to be missing as well (I made sure it was checked) but whenever I try to sort one travel skill, a random one will move (Aka Whenever I move misty mountains, it moves Snowbourn instead).

I went back into the game after a long time and found out that there is a new version of the plugin, I only have a minor problem. in the old version of the Travel Window plugin I had the visibility of the icons of not yet purchased milestones turned on, what I can't turn on in your version, can you advise me how to turn it on? see picture


in the settings there is a travel ability to Bree (rep) and Bree (racial) and when I turn off one of them, both of which were not in the old version will disappear. then when I move one of them to another position I move to that new position both.
further lacks Shire (racial) travel ability; he does not remember the order of the icons as I set them

I switched back to 1.03, cause the Premium I use verry often.
In the short time I used 1.05 all used ports worked well.
THX for your zeal.

With the old version from Thaliruth I had no problems. Or I did not regocnized them.
