VBar
What is it?
Two very simple bars that show Morale and Power. Originally intended to be vertical only, hence VBar. They fade in as Morale/Power gets lower. What isn't it?
- A replacement for the default unit frames
- Palantir - which has a larger feature set
- VitalBars - which has more options
So, if Palantir and VitalBars do more why did you make it then?
Palantir had too many features for me, and VitalBars didn't have vertical bars. How to use?Unzip to the Plugins folder.
You will also need Turbines standard code and DeusDictums Dragbar How to startI recommend using manager, or Bootstrap . Otherwise it is /plugins load VBar Slash Commands- '/vb test n' where n is a number between 0 and 1. Test bar at that fill level
- '/vb msize x y' sets the Morale bar to size x,y. Without x or y gives current size
- '/vb psize x y' sets the Power bar to size x,y. Without x or y gives current size
- '/vb mposition x y' sets the Morale bar to position x,y. Without x or y gives current position
- '/vb pposition x y' sets the Power bar to position x,y. Without x or y gives current position
OptionsBar:Unlock the UI. Use the dragbar to drag it around, the rotator to turn it around and click and drag inside the frame to resize it. Holding down Alt will snap the bars to an invisible 16px grid. Resizing the bars whilst holding alt will snap to a 5px grid. Button:The Vbar button acts like the player frame for clicking when the ui is locked.
When the UI is unlocked left clicking inside the button changes the size of the button (click and drag) and right clicking brings up an option menu.
The option menu allows showing values/percentages and font selection.
Mousing over the button brings the bars to full opacity. If enough people hate this feature I will remove it. NOTES:Many thanks to DeusDictum, Pengoros, Kragen...
This plugin was made by me, for me! I hope you get some good use from it. If not, please be constructive with your comments - I don't get paid for this!
I have NOT tested this with non-English clients. Sorry.
I do not intend to add many more features to this plugin! See Palantir or Vitalbars for a more feature-rich experience!
I consider this to be Beta work. There may be bugs!

You shouldn't lose anything!

Oh! My bad then - I won't release a new version just for this, but I will make the display match the entry.
Thanks

nice plugin
I like the plugin. Does pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I get to keep the original default vitals that shows my buffs & debuffs and I get the 2 tiny (I resized them) vitals bars down next to my character where it's easy to see them while fighting.
The only problem I'm having with it is I have to position them manually for each of my characters. The /vb mposition & /vb pposition just move the bars up to the top left corner of my screen no matter what values I use (ex: /vb mposition 611,624 & /vb pposition 611,627).
I haven't tried the /vb msize 60,5 & /vb psize 60,5 yet. I sized them manually.

I'm afraid I don't know what that means!
Not big on translating my plugins... really should get sorted on that...

Oh! Now I see! I did wonder what the heck you wanted a second set for
I'll have a look.
EDIT:
This request has made me think, and think hard. It is not a simple thing to implement in a good way. By that I mean a way that satisfies my standards.
It would be relatively easy to just add a new set of bars, but to fulfill their role properly, as described, you would want to be able to show or hide them. When you are solo they are not needed!
What I have going around in my head is for the player to have complete control over however many bars they want, showing whatever data they like. Wouldn't it be useful if one of the bars was focus for example.
Let me think if I want to commit to such a complex enterprise.
EDIT:
Answer... no. I don't want to commit myself to another complex plugin, at this time! My wife is trying to talk me into going back to WoW...
Anyway. I did a search/replace VBAR to VBARII and uploaded it for you. Now you can have two copies of the plugin running at once and your double bar-age is fullfilled, for now.
Not elegant, not perfect - but good enough for country folk as the saying goes.

Hmm...ok.
On my Minstrel I basically have 2 sets of quickbars. One set along the bottom is set up for solo/dps. The other, for healing/grouping, is along the right side of my screen where I can easily see and access the fellowship panel right up next to it. It would be nice to have a set of vertical bars there. Sometimes I forget to monitor my own status...especially morale...while watching everyone else's health. I've gotten around it by using Tonicbars to create quickslots that only appear when I drop below a certain health %...remind me to self-heal/pop a pot.
Still...an 'auxiliary' set of bars that I could move/re-size/make vertical, that would be keen .

How difficult would it be to allow a second set of bars elsewhere on the screen?

A second set? An interesting request...
A bit of a pain, to be honest!
