New version works perfectly on Linux Mint 19.3 - Thank you so much for all your hard work!!
I uploaded a new version for Java 11. I cannot test this on Mac, so if someone would be so kind as to do so.
If you are using Java 8, just download the older 1.4 version of the client.
(edit: looks like its awaiting approval. if it doesn't have java11 in the filename, it hasn't been approved yet)

This problem was not happening for me. Does the configuration tab look alright? Is the URL set to http://api.lotrointerface.com/fav/plugincompendium.xml
can you reach that url in a browser?

Did the one you downloaded say 1.4-java11 in the zip file name?

TitanBar won't Install
Hey there. I've managed to get a number of plugins installed, however TitanBar which works fine on my Windows partition, won't install on the Linux one. something about "unexpected element (uri:'', local: "Plugin") then lists the "expected elements".
Is this a LOTROinterface issue or a TitanBar one, do you know? Thanks.

Sounds like perhaps the plugin or plugincompendium file might have something in it that it does not like.

on the plugincompendium-1.4-java11 version. Under the linux folder, plugincompendium.sh has:
Code:
#!/bin/sh
java -jar plugincompendium-1.1-full.jar
The 1.1 should be 1.4
Once this is done it works as expected.

Java Error Launching Linux Version
Just to help others, I got the following error:
Quote:
implementation of jaxb-api has not been found
|
This was because it's not clear from the write-up where the Java 11 version link is...except it's the big, obvious download button that I missed!
There are two filenames you can get
Quote:
plugincompendium-1.4-java11.zip
|
and
(Java 6+ I think)

Open the game launcher - don't log in, in the top right corner, there is a button with a downward pointing arrow (third from right). Click it to drop down the options menu and click "Explore Screenshots Folder". This will open a folder explorer window in the folder where your Lord of the Rings Online client looks for documents. There should be a "Plugins" folder under that folder which is where plugins get unzipped. Do not confuse this with the "PluginData" folder which may also exist but is where plugins store their settings and data (if this folder does not already exist, that's ok, as soon as you load your first plugin, the data folder will get created by the client if needed).

Hey there, if you need to find the folder on linux, where your plugins and such need to be placed, try this following command:
find $HOME -name lotro.keymap
Because the lotro.keymap file only exists once and is always in the correct folder.
This will likely give yourself a result like mine (if using steam/proton but should also work for a wine install) which looks like this:
/home/mias/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/212500/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/lotro.keymap
In here create a "Plugins" folder, and that is the folder you need to specify with the above path in the compedium configuration option " Plugin Install Path".
If there is need for a full Linux guide, let me know and I can supply you in a different thread / as an installation guide in this threads FAQ.
