The Original Author
Quote:
Eduardo Lucero aka "LedMirage" left Lord of the Rings Online in early 2008. During his time in Lotro he created two amazing looking skins for the game: LM Durin's Folk and LM Eorlingas. Years have now passed since the last update for the original Durin's Folk. It is time to continue from where he left off..
This is a tribute for LedMirage's Durin's Folk skin for the Lord of the Rings Online.

Durin's Folk Revisited
Quote:
I tried my best to respect the original style of the skin. The initial version of this remake contains over 300 new skin elements assigned to the skin and was released alongside with Lotro's Volume 3 Book 2 update (also known as F2P patch). Some old graphics were fixed due to the client change over the years and some enhancements were added as well. Those enhancements include a bigger crafting panel, a larger dressingroom in addition to a taller mail, vendor and quest book. Also bio panel was modified easier to read. I didn't forget about Wardens and Rune-keepers either..
Big thanks goes to MirarKitty for his modifications that inspired me to add and optimize them into this skin.

Installing instructions
Quote:
- Download the skin
- Extract the files into your Lord of the Rings Online Directory
- XP: <drive>:\\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\
- Vista/7: <drive>:\\Users\<username>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\
- Make sure UI folder was created in that directory. The skin files should now be located in \\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\UI\Skins\LM Durins Folk\ directory
- If you have problems extracting the files use 7zip.
- Start the game and enter The Middle-Earth
- Open the Main Menu
- From Main Menu go to UI Settings
- Scroll down until you find Current User Skin
- Select the Skin
- Durin's Folk Revisited or Durin's Folk Rev. B (B = Black version)
- Log out to the character selection screen and back into the game
- If you won't relog some of the panels won't load properly, you only have to do this once on each character you use this on though.
- Enjoy Durin's Folk Revisited !

An updated version of Durin's folk, based on this one, is featured in JRR (and it has a large dressroom )

Is there any way to make the dressing room large? I love this mod for my Dwarf but the lack of a large-format dressing room is ... an issue. Sadly I know nothing about creating mods, so don't know if there's just a snippet of code that I can cut and paste or if there's no way of adjusting it from my side.

I love this interface for my dwarf but the character screen is not working right. Part of it is cut off even after logging out and back in.

I always loved your DaimonUI, it just looks extremly nice! But it got the big contra of design meets function, more fore the eye then for the function. Now I use your revistid of LM's Durins Folk and I just recognize again: Very very nice work!

Is there anyway to hide "LOTRO Store" button ? I must admit that I hate it.

New version for Update 2. I just disabled the customized char panel. If you want that I continue working on this skin I advice you to give support for us skinners at Lotro Forums (this will not only affect my work but other skin authors as well). Only way we can get new resources is to put pressure on Turbine by their customers it looks like.
Ask for new Art Asset resources (or Skin Art Pack) for skinners at http://forums.lotro.com/forumdisplay...User-Interface

Hey, any chance of you fixing the Character panel when the Vol3Book3 update goes live?
When I log onto bullroarer I only see half the panel. I can load the default UI,
then log off and log back on, then reload the Durin's Folk skin and it will work.
but that would become annoying if my client crashed or something.

Lol. If you make a new character and kill some of the beginning mobs, you'll be set.

I'll look into it
Can't fix the Lotro Store button atm though as it would cause a lot more problems than just having it there.
|
Well thats cool. It just seems like the XP Bar isn't matching up, just needs to be moved over. Though thats my thoughts, coming from a chick with very little UI programming under her belt. L o l.

I think you need to put the `durinīs folk revisitedī and not the mini. It happened to me the same thing.

I did that and have it set as such. However, I prefer the mini which is why I'm asking if he can address the issues with the Mini. :|

Hey Daimon,
I am so glad that you brought back Durin's Folk. It's my favorite UI of all the UI's I've ever had in any game.
I just wanted to point out two problems with the "Mini" version.
The EXP bar is messed up and the "LotRO Store" is out in left field.
Could you please fix these in your next update?
