Description
RecipeTracker will automatically track all of your known recipes on each of your characters on a server. It allows any characters crafting list to be viewed instantly, without needing to log out and in again. It also includes a quick recipe search which will tell instantly which characters can use that recipe that just dropped, and which characters already know it.

Features:
  • Tracks/views all known recipes on all alts
  • Tracks crafting proficiency/mastery status and experience for all alts
  • Minimized plugin icon (disable from options if you don't want it)
  • Recipe quick search - just drag a recipe to the quickslot and instantly see which character already know it, and which characters need it. Or search by simply typing part of the recipe name.
  • Shows ingredients required for a recipe, even for recipes known only by alts.

Commands:
  • /recipetracker options
  • /recipetracker show
  • /recipetracker hide
  • /recipetracker toggle

Limitations:
  • There's a bug in the LUA API which means that when you learn a new recipe it won't show up in the list. You'll have to log out and then log in again in order for the new recipe to appear in the characters list.
  • Only the known recipes can be tracked, there is no way to see a list of the unknown recipes, as the LUA API doesn't show this information yet.
  • The quickslot search is a bit primitive since it is based only on the recipe name. Let me know if it fails on any recipes and I'll patch it. Also there's no way in the API to tell for what profession a recipe is intended, so the list of characters just says 'All characters' when an unknown recipe is found.

  • Ingredients are now stored for every recipe and can be seen on a separate tab.

  • Reduced memory usage by removing duplication of recipe data
  • The "Needed by" list now shows characters in gray if they have not yet achieved the required proficiency for the recipe.

I don't know if this is still being maintained or not, but the expert jeweler recipe "Rune of Vanquishing Recipe" doesn't work in the search, presumably because once learned, it's called a "Vanquishing Rune" instead.

Hello,
i see you post good ideas for several plugins, however most of them have same problem.
We can not alter any part of the game. Period.
Most of the plugins work on combination of
1) requesting all possible data we can request from the game
2) adding own data libraries for data we cannot request from the game

after manipulating with this data the plugin developers cannot inject the data back into game, they need to build theyr own UI to present the results in.

I do not know whether it is feasible within the limits and which exist in the game.

File Updating

I've been having a problem with an invalid index error involving recipetracker_characterlist. I've deleted several characters, but the file has not been updated. I had to go in and manually revise it and reassign indexes.

Windows 10 lotro windowed fullscreen bug

Hello,
always when I'm getting startet lotro and join ingame from the charachters page in windowed fullscreen, I always have an uncoordinated icon of the songbook.
Look here, it is the icon on the bottom left side. Sorry for all the drawings but I used the pic also for other comments. Maybe someone can help and fix the bug.

Howdy, I really like this plugin, but I am having this same problem. Not meaning to be a bother, I know interest in old projects tends to lag, but will you be addressing this? The problem with this solution is that the per character subfolders do not exist with the latest versions of LOTRO.

If this cannot/will not be addressed, it is no big deal really. It is still useable and can be worked with.

Again....Nice plugin. Thanks for writing it.

Deleted Alt won't go away

Hello:

I had the same problem listed below. I deleted an alt and couldn't get rid of them in Recipetracker.

I did this:
Under Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData there should be a subfolder for all your accounts. Under that, subfolders for all servers you have characters on. And under that, subfolders per character. Deleting the ex-characters folder should remove the saved recipes/inventory/...

Then deleted Recipetracker and re-installed. My deleted alt is still showing-up.

Any suggestions?

so while playing and updating my UI I ran across this plugin and thought I'd add in the westemnet crafting for myself, it shows the recipes BUT it doesn't show the level

I added it into the globals.lua file and when I got to load it I get this error

...ine\Plugins\ScarlimPlugins\RecipeTracker\Global s.lua:105: table index is nil

what exactly am I doing wrong?

As I understand it, this is a limitation in the LOTRO interface - the item description popup only works for recipes your active character knows (or can learn, not entirely sure).

hey,

first of all, thanks for this awesome and pretty useful LUA. i really enjoy it and use it quite often (yeah altaholic problem..)

i have a few suggestions/questions about it.

i have had the problem that, when i delete a char (or even transfer to other server) the known recipes of this character are still shown. is there any option to delete the "old" characters? i hope so

and next question: is there any chance to implement the stats of crafted items to be shown? like when i hover the item in my bag it shows them. do you have to implement them all manually? or can you load them from any other content (lotro wiki / other plugins / ...)?
thanks alot for your work again!!

[edit: and maybe add the items that are needed to crit too? like resin, brimstone, journals, etc.]

There are two solutions to this. One is to use a third party program running outside of the game client and is NOT a recommended solution as that can lead to security issues. Thanks for the suggestion, it worked great. I had never heard of Symbolic Links but found a small program at http://dirlinker.codeplex.com/ that created the links for me.

I simply added a new directory called AllAccounts under PlugInData and then linked the AccountA and AccountB directories to it so that the new directory contained all the actual data and the old directories were converted to links to the same directory.
