Description
This plugin creates a single window that contains available travel skills, including race, class, housing and reputation skills. It is a further development of the "Travel Window" plugin, that has been worked on by multiple authors before.

Since this plugin is a 100% replacement for "Travel Window" you should not have both enabled at the same time. You can keep them both installed though.

Installation:
This is a full plugin and can be installed standalone. Follow the general plugin installation instructions to install Travel Window II or update the install (depends on your OS).
I recommend you install and manage your plugins with the LOTRO Plugin Compendium found at this URL, since it will install plugins cleanly and take care of installing the Turbine utilities for you: LOTRO Plugin Compendium App

If you do not use Plugin Compendium, you need to manually install Turbine utilities that are available at:
http://content.turbine.com/sites/lot..._LuaPlugins.7z
This has to be extracted to your "Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins" folder (if you are on Windows) so two folders called Turbine and TurbinePlugins show up there.

FAQ:
How can I make a newly learned skill show up in Travel Window II?
These three options work:
  • right-click anywhere on TW II, select "Check untrained skills" from the menu, the skill will show up
  • open options window, go to Enable tab, click "Check untrained skills" button, the skill will show up
  • relog the character

Why does my racial skill show up even though I do not have the racial trait equipped?
  • Because once the trait is acquired, it is classified as a "learned" skill by LOTRO itself, even though it is greyed out. Travel Window II, unfortunately, has no way of knowing if you have the racial trait equipped and the skill is usable. If you are not using the skill permanently, you can use the Enable/Disable options to hide it like any other skill.

Why does a reputation or store version of my racial skill show up even though I have not obtained or bought it?
  • This is because the racial and those store-bought skills have identical names ingame (i.e. "Return to Bree") and the plugin obtains a list of learned skills that includes that name at least once. Based on that name alone the plugin cannot know which of the two skills you have obtained, while you can get both through the Racial+Store combo. You can use the Enable/Disable options to hide the skill you do not have that is greyed out.

How to handle the settings reset introduced by v1.0.7beta?
  • if you had v1.0.6beta or earlier and update to v1.0.8beta or newer, you will keep your settings, but enable/disable and sorting will have to be reset - this is the best case where most settings can be kept
  • if you updated to v.1.0.7beta but never logged that character in, an update to v1.0.8beta or newer will work as the above best case
  • if you updated to v.1.0.7beta and logged that character in, you lost all settings, you now have two choices
  • 1. keep the settings you made manually after logging in with v1.0.7beta installed
  • 2. delete the TravelWindowII.plugindata file, and your settings from before will be imported by v1.0.8beta or newer, the same as the best-case scenario
  • The file can be found at C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\%ACCOUNTNAME%\%SERVERNAME%\%CHAR ACTERNAME%

Me, too, except I like everything in the same spot because of OCD, not for multiboxing purposes. Once I had TravelWindowII set it up the way I want it for a single character, I copied the TravelWindowIISettings*.plugindata files from that character to my others. Only small adjustments needed to be made using the in-game options for each character to account for different racial/class/store-bought travel skills.

Yup, that's exactly what I mean, I like to have the travel window and all ui elements in the exact same place for all chars(helps for multiboxing), so having position/size save globally would be awesome, that being said I'm sure there's some people who don't want that. For myself I just edited TravelWindow.lua's Settings.positionX/Y and Settings.buttonPositionX/Y to the actual numbers I want, gets the job done

Also I was able to make the window quite a bit smaller by editing the CaroTab part of TravelWindow.lua under "-- update the page that is showing", set the min width/height to 150/90(the window size is set in a few different places was a bit confusing for me lol)

I've tried to set the height lower, but it can't seem to get any smaller than ~88 no matter how low I set it, even raised the quickslot positions in TravelCaroTab.lua, so there's something else I can't find making that the "real" minimum.

I'll check out the Github release and see the changes, I've been trying to make my own little stripped down version of the plugin that's purely the Carousel for fun mostly, its....getting somewhere lol.

Thank you for keeping up the plugin.
Btw, have you removed the ability to add item maps?
That feature was removed by a previous maintainer, and reenabling it is on my todo list. The feature broke over the years and it needs a rewrite to start working again.

What I discovered, is that all my addon buttons will disappear if I have hidden my UI (for a screenshot) and then, instead of using the proper keybind again, hit ESC for an easy way out. Using the keybind followed by ESC a second time brings back the addon buttons.

Not sure if this applies to you, but just wanted to let you know about it.
This is fixed on GitHub and will be included in the next release.

Travel Window doesn't hide after I use a Travel Skill
If you are willing to install from github, the develop branch has a new option in the general tab that control the hide on travel/do not hide on travel behaviour.
Not yet fully tested though as servers are down.

I am looking to do something similar for the other setting as well and then release it with the next version.

couple changes I made for myself

Only just updated from the original plugin today. Thought this info might be useful for other people at the very least.

I want my Carousel of travel skills to be always visible, basically 2 conditions:
  1. Travel Window doesn't hide after I use a Travel Skill
  2. Travel Window doesn't hide when I press Escape

I would love if these could be options to set in the plugin, global positions/size/opacity settings would be nice too. Would also love if the carousel window could be just barely bigger than the skills displayed and didn't have a close button on it(while still being draggable), I'd want a way to disable resizing too but there's a setting for that in TraveWindow.lua. I'll probably just stumble around the lua files and figure it out on my own at some point.

TravelCaroTab.lua
delete/comment out the red line, this stops the window closing when you use a travel skill.
Code:
        -- set the handler for mouse click events, show the menu
        -- when right clicked
        self.quickslots[i].MouseClick = function(sender, args)
            if (args.Button == Turbine.UI.MouseButton.Right) then
                Menu:ShowMenu();
            else
                self.parent:SetVisible(false);
            end
        end

TravelWindow.lua
Delete/comment out the red line, this will prevent the Main Window from closing when you press Escape
Code:
    -- manage hiding the UI
    self.KeyDown = function(sender, args)
        if (args.Action == Turbine.UI.Lotro.Action.Escape) then
            self:SetVisible(false);
            self:CloseOptions();
            self:CloseGondorMap();
            self:CloseMoorMap();
            self:CloseEriadorMap();
            self:CloseRhovanionMap();
        elseif (args.Action == 268435635) then
            if (self.hidden == false) then
                self.currentVisState = self:IsVisible();
                self.hidden = true;
                self:SetVisible(false);
                self.ToggleButton:SetVisible(false);
            else
                self.hidden = false;
                self:SetVisible(self.currentVisState);
                self.ToggleButton:SetVisible(Settings.showButton == 1);
            end
        else
        end
    end

Today was the first time in a while it's happened. This time, I know the exact circumstances: I just finished the "Bingo Goes For A Swim" solo instance, I was not in combat, and at the end of that fun little sequence after leaving the instance and reappearing in The Golden Perch inn in Stock, the button was gone when I went to mouse over it.

I was able to bring the button back for one mouseover only by hiding and then showing the UI. I brought up the TravelWindowII options window and "Show Toggle Button" was checked.

Note that when I say the button doesn't appear when I mouse over it, it's not just at opacity=zero, it's not there: If it were just at opacity=zero, I could still click on it, and I can't do that when this happens.

Thank you, seems the shoddy translation practices of SSG strike again and they changed the skill names in todays update :-(

Will try to make a new release in an hour or two.

I had the old Travel Window and just discovered this one. I downloaded it, and it automatically went to my Downloads folder. Any suggestions on where to store the folder besides Downloads?
There are instructions in the text above on how to install. If you do not know how to install plugins I highly recommend to use the LOTRO Plugin Compendium app do do so, it will put the download in the right folder for you.

This is because the developers have added green borders to some icons; compare Forlaw to other Return to Skills in the screenshot. More noticeable on Hunter that has Guide skills without border mostly but return to skills get the border. Open up your skills panel and check the travel skills.
Oh, yes I see it now - strange that they do some Guide To skills, but not all. That made it more confusing.

Thanks for this explanation! I never check the skill list anymore, because I'm so accustomed to your addon that I consider that my default nowadays, haha. Shows just how much of a must-have this addon is for me!

I haven't notice my button disappearing for about a week. That doesn't mean it hasn't happened! I might just not have noticed. I haven't played much the last 8-10 days. I will perform the test you request in your first paragraph then report back here afterward next time I notice my button has vanished.
Thank you.

I keep my button in a fully transparent state when I'm not mousing over it so I've never seen it visible on screen and then =POOF= while I'm staring at it.
This is a crucial bit of info because I think what differentiates your case from others is the full transparency of the button. And it gives me another thing to look at, namely not the button getting turned off, but losing the ability to increase opacity on mouseover. Others might not notice because for them it would be just a switch from heavy transparency to little transparency.
