Thank you very much for the heads up! I will get to work resolving this issue right away. To that end - can you give me any more details regarding the "Run As Administrator" issue? Was it the installer you had to "Run As Administrator" or was it the actual program. And if it's the program itself, do you have to "Run As Administrator" every time you launch the program? |

The program itself under Vista and Windows7 needs to use 'Run As Administrator'. The installer, MIGHT have to use that too as the .bat file you call modifies files in an otherwise protected area (%Programfiles%)

As TheFrank said the program itself.
You have to run the shortcut for the program as admin each time. Alternative you can modify the shortcut program properties under the adavance tab to make it run as admin,doing so when run the program you get a pop each time from the UAC. When you dont run the program as admin,each time you close the program is when you get the error as show in pic below. Here the error code I get in Windows 7: Code:

Thank you both very much for your input, it is most valuable to me. And sadly I have little capacity to test my work on anything above windows XP. I should have forseen such difficulties but did not. None the less, with your feedback and help from the LotRO (Lua developing) community I believe I have corrected the problem that was being caused by the program itself. Additionally, I have eliminated the batch file you mentioned in your post, TheFrank. That was the result of a poorly cobbled-together mock-installer that I hoped would suffice for a proper installer. I should never have released it in that state. However, this installer should work somewhat more reliably and with fewer errors. Windows 7 and Vista users may still have to "Run as Administrator" to run the installer though! Please try the updated version and let me know if it causes any errors for either of you. And thanks very much for your help! |

Ok I installed your new version,I haven't test it fully intensively but the first time I start it it gave me same error.
After I closed it and reopen and close few more time,I don't get any errors anymore. So only once first time launching it.  |

Thank you very much for your input - again! It really is very helpful. Based on what you said I think I know what's happening. I believe I missed 1 line of code when I fixed the overall problem with registry access yesterday. I will take care of this today and there should be a new version posted and ready to go by this time tomorrow. Thanks again for all your help! From your description I think I know exactly what the problem is...and that's worth a lot! EDIT: The new version should fix all the errors the program was causing. Please let me know if you experience any errors from this version. Additionally, I've beefed up the installer a bit so that it does more cleanup on uninstall. Gave this a try the other day and I'm pleased at how it successfully registered my old plugins and upgraded the new versions when I dragged the .zip files over. I'm also happy I can disable the Turbine examples so I don't have to see them in game.
One bug I did notice, was that when I added LotroPad and Songbook it is only keeping whichever one I drop in last. I assume this is because they are both written by the same author, so they use the same parent directory. So I can't seem to have them both in using this tool. |

First, thank you for trying my program and I'm really glad you enjoyed using it! That being said, thank you also for pointing out this problem! I'm looking into the issue right now. Please check back soon and I will have an updated version of the program ready to go. I'll update this message as things develop. Update 1: I've duplicated the error. The program appears to be deleting any other .plugin files in the same folder when it copies in the new .plugin file. Everything else that supports the (deleted) plugin appears to remain in place though. I'm reasonably sure I know what's going on here. I'll make another update when I find / squash the bug. Update 2: I've found the offending piece of code and removed it. I found another bug that I probably wouldn't have noticed had I not been looking at the bug you reported. Thank you for trying the program. Are you having trouble getting the program to run or are you having trouble using the program? From your description I'm not sure which is the case. However, if you're having trouble getting the program to run my first guess would be that you may need to install the Microsoft .NET 4 framework. The program will not function without it. If you have already installed the Microsoft .NET 4 framework there should be an entry for it in your Add Remove Programs list in the Control Panel. You should see something like this.  If you do not see an entry for the Microsoft .NET 4 framework please install it with the following this link. However, if you should find that you already have the Microsoft .NET 4 framework installed please explain the problem you're having in a little more detail. Is the program causing errors? Does it not seem to be doing what it's supposed to be doing? Please give me as much detail as you can about the problem you're experiencing. |

ok just updated my framework 4.0 but i still dont have that multi targeting pack you have. i turn on the tool with admin rights (window 7) then i try to drag a plugin that's zipped from lotrointerface over top of the tool but it doesn't do anything. O.o so if you have any ideas on what im doing wrong please and thank you.

Thanks for hanging in there! If you can see anything that says "Microsoft .NET framework 4" in your add/remove programs list you should have what you need. When the program runs, you should see all your installed plugins in the list. Do they appear in the list? If you haven't installed any plugins, you should at least see the four example plugins: CombatQuickslots, Examples, TheOneBag & Vitals. Do these appear in the list? If you're seeing any plugins in the list you should be ready to go. All you should need to do is exactly what you said: Download a plugin file (usually a .zip file) and save it to your desktop then drag the file into the plugins list on the program. But you can only drop them directly into the white list box - it won't work if you drop it anywhere else on the program. If the program finds no problems with the plugin file you dropped, you won't see anything happen except that the new plugin name should be added to the list. (It's supposed to work with minimal interaction with the user) However, if the program finds some problem with the plugin file it will tell you what that problem is. Please let me know whether you're seeing any plugins listed at all when the program runs. Also, make sure you're dropping the files into the Plugins List. If, after this, you still can't use the program - please send me a link to the plugin you downloaded so I can test it on this end. Also let me know what operating system you're using. found the problem your current tool version can NOT be loaded with admin rights. If you do it will not let you install i plugin. If loaded with out admin rights it will take the plugins and load them properly
im using 64bit windows 7 |

Hey. Looks a great manager.
I have a problem though. It doesn't appear to work for me. I get an error from every single plugin I'm dragging into it: "I didn't find a plugin in there." I must be missing something I guess. Got fresh installed Framework 4 Client and Extended (but no multi-targeting pack, didn't find it anywhere, the ms installer didn't install that. I guess it's vb related somehow ?). Oh using euro client (goes live during the following day) and euro win7 64b. After installing plugins manually I can see the plugins in the program though. Can even enable/disable them.
