Anduril Reforged: Lord of the Rings Online UI Skin
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
by Windburn

*** Installation Instructions: ***

1. Unzip the contents of the folder to My Documents/Lord of the Rings Online/ui/skins/
2. Be sure to unzip the folder structure too, so that all the files are located in the following folder:
My Documents/Lord of the Rings Online/ui/skins/Anduril Reforged/
3. Fire up your game, and once in, navigate to the "UI Settings" section of your Options.
4. Select "Anduril Reforged" found at the bottom of the UI Settings screen.
5. Enjoy!

This is my second attempt at a skin, with more of a Gondorian feel than my previously elvish release. I've focused this skin around the Anduril; the sword reforged from the shards of Narsil by the Elves for Aragorn to weild against Mordor.

For anyone interested, the runes found along the blade (in my skin, separated over the two) are the actual runes inscribed on Anduril. They are written in Quenya, in the runes of Eregion and translated, they read:

"I am Anduril, who was Narsil, the sword of Elendil. Let the thralls of Mordor flee me."

Hopefully you guys like it, I feel it's a bit easier to do the second time than the Elf-Sung Wood theme, so hopefully there will still be more to come!

Version History

1.02 - Finally found a way of doing the title bar so that I'm somewhat happy with it. Want to work out better windows soon, but wanted to get this out as quick as possible.

Disclaimer: Nothing arduous, just be sure to give proper credit if this is being hosted anywhere, and if you could kindly let me know by contacting me on lotrointerface.com that would be great! Please ensure this readme
accompanies the files at all times. Cheers

Final notes:
If you like what you're using, could you kindly comment on it? I'd love to see how my work is received or any suggestions you may have, and with the last one I got very little response! There were alot of hours put into this, and it'd be great to see it's actually being appreciated. Thanks guys

Clean Crisp UI :)

I use this UI almost exclusively. Great work! I wish I knew how to read or write the script for these things. Is there a "UI Modding from Scratch" book for dummies? hehe...I do a lot of 3d Modeling but it's not the HTML-.xcl writing stuff. I am working on a custom version of yours till the light goes on in my head about building Keep em comin!

@ simba-dimba

I would really love to, unfortunately it's a limitation of the game in its current stage- we're only given a certain number of textures that we can play with, and the player and party frames aren't among them

Hopefully Turbine will be adding to what we can do soonish, and I'll definitely get my UIs up to speed when they do!

Thanks for your kind words too

First of all let me begin by saying that I LOVE your UI, you did a fanastic job!

Though I do have one suggestion (if its possiable) could you maybe modify the player display and group displays to fit the theme of the rest of the Anduril UI?

If its not a problem that is I'm a freak when it comes to coordination haha.

Thanks for the mod!

The new 1.02 version is now updated into zip format, so that those of you without winrar can still get your hands on it. Sorry about the file type guys!

Re: It's clean looking and sharp.

Thanks for the suggestions fortgeorge!

It's actually funny you should mention this, because it's something I initially started to do, and am still nutting over how to implement right. Unfortunately you don't have a whole lot of room to create the sides of the title bar, and when I initially added that featurette to the top, it would always be overlapped by the text of the frame title It's definitely something I'm working on, because I don't particularly care for the bland look too much either.

Oh just an fyi, those sun rays were actually inspired by the decorative gold around the gondorian armour.

Thumbs up It's clean looking and sharp.

It's clean looking and sharp, the only thing I'd do is add the sun rays that are on the bottom bar to the tops of the quest, bag and character windows alongside the window title, if that makes sense. Just so it evens out the look I suppose?

Maybe I'm just nit picking. Oh, a shiny and/or matte silver one would be cool as well, but it's just a thought. Although it does seem weird to have silver sun rays, lol

All in all as it is I'd give it 4.5 stars(rated it 5 since i can't put a 4.5). I took off .5 just cause I would like to see the rays carried out more and I like silver more.

Over all I think it's a great ui. =)

{EDIT} Maybe you could incorporate the seven stars between the crescent moons somewhere in the ui? Might be asking too much though, since the ui can only be re-skinned and not fiddled with like other mmo's.
