Re: Great Plugin - a few possible improvements

Hi, Melaga,

Quote:
I like to have festival-quests in their own tab since there are quite a few of them that I'd like to track and it would clutter the General-Tab; my problem is that when I complete one of the festival-quests instead of checking in the other tab and marking the quest as done the plugin creates a new entry in the General tab that I then manually have to push over to my festival-tab - it would be nice it other tabs could be checked, too - or if we could assign a specific tab to repeatable quests in the first place
You can assign a specific tab (and category) to repeatable quests. In the options panel, under the Character tab, you should see the following:

What you cannot currently do is to specify a different tab/category for each individual quest. But I could add that.

Quote:
The other entry is a minor one but I'd like it if when sorting entries by time, if multiple entries are available it would show those with a "static" time period (like crafting-recipes) first and then those that reset when the server does since those with a static time are more urgent than those that only reset with the server where it doesn't matter if you do them first
I think when sorting by the "Time" column, most users want the reminders to be listed in order of expiration time, regardless of urgency. You can, however, sort the table by any other column (such as Category), and you can assign a "more urgent color" to more urgent categories. Or, you can put the "non-urgent" ones into a different tab.

Quote:
the third one also is a smaller convenience feature that would go well with the general idea of the plugin: raid locks

it would be cool if the plugin could check raid-locks (just their reset-times) and display those in a specific tab, too
For example if you want to farm old raids for the housing items.
For now, the only way to keep track of raid locks would be to manually create your own reminders for them, or use the automatic-reminder feature since they are basically repeatable quests.

I would be happy to add better support for raid locks, but unfortunately I don't have any raid-ready toons, so it would be difficult for me to test it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Thumbs up Great Plugin - a few possible improvements

First of all: I love your plugin - I have three suggestions though:

I like to have festival-quests in their own tab since there are quite a few of them that I'd like to track and it would clutter the General-Tab; my problem is that when I complete one of the festival-quests instead of checking in the other tab and marking the quest as done the plugin creates a new entry in the General tab that I then manually have to push over to my festival-tab - it would be nice it other tabs could be checked, too - or if we could assign a specific tab to repeatable quests in the first place

The other entry is a minor one but I'd like it if when sorting entries by time, if multiple entries are available it would show those with a "static" time period (like crafting-recipes) first and then those that reset when the server does since those with a static time are more urgent than those that only reset with the server where it doesn't matter if you do them first

the third one also is a smaller convenience feature that would go well with the general idea of the plugin: raid locks

it would be cool if the plugin could check raid-locks (just their reset-times) and display those in a specific tab, too
For example if you want to farm old raids for the housing items.

even without those features it's still one of my 3 favorite plugins together with Buffbars and Titanbar - keep up the great work!

Thanks for reporting it. It's a harmless message, but it will be fixed in the next version.

Sure, how to contact you and provide feedback?

Tried 1.25, no joy - do not use Sequence Bars.

Plugin works fine and behaves well, until log out: LOTRO goes through the logout count down, clears characters from screen seems to hang for a second or two then the LOTRO seems to have crashed window pops up

Loaded an alt with no other plugins, just Reminders and the game crashes: goes through the logout countdown, then the LOTRO has stopped working screen. So, at least for me, the plugin is the issue.

Appears that it is really not an issue, since crash is at logout, data appears to be saved, etc, it is just a very inelegant exit from the game and may cause some anxiety

D'oh! It looks like there's a conflict between the latest versions of Reminders and SequenceBars. I'll post an update shortly.

I'm still working on the problem with crashes at logout.

Edit: Version 1.25 should fix the conflict. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Updated to 1.24 same as ever did (unpack and overwrite) and had the following errors with no reminders showing up in the list. I did not crash on logout.

Code:
... Rings Online\Plugins\Thurallor\Reminders\Window.lua:554: attempt to call method 'SetAddTabButtonEnabled' (a nil value)
... Rings Online\Plugins\Thurallor\Reminders\Window.lua:658: attempt to call method 'SetAddTabButtonEnabled' (a nil value)
... Rings Online\Plugins\Thurallor\Reminders\Window.lua:902: attempt to index local 'frontTab' (a nil value)
Backed up, deleted the folder and reverted to 1.23 and the list came back. I crashed on logout.

Any advice?

Re: Game crash on exit/log out to character list

Quote:
Just DLd this plugin everything works fine, except for the plugin causing a game CTD. Only occurs on a character when the plug in is loaded and logging out of the game. No CTD when the plugin is not loaded for any character.

Also have the ListBox patch installed (yes properly located) and no CTD for any character, unless Reminder is loaded.

ListBox and Reminders plugins are the only new items installed.
Thanks for reporting this.

Since the problem doesn't manifest on my setup, I need people who are willing to try different test versions of the plugin, to isolate the problem. Would you be willing to participate?

Edit: Please try the latest version, 1.24. It may fix your problem.

Yes. I would be willing to run tests to fix it. This plugin is essential for anyone that is serious about crafting and has many alts.
Thanks, I sent you a PM.

Re: Re: Bug Report?

Quote:
Do you mean just changing the size of the Reminders window? Or are you talking about changing the icon size, or something else?
Yes, with the table open - I dragged the corner of the window to make it larger. I have seven characters so I needed more space to see. On logout, this crashed the game. Any sort of sizing changes crash the game on logout.

Quote:
What do you mean by "custom tasks"? And, what do you mean by "anything that is not generated by the system" -- can you give an example?
I created another tab. I was going to put some general custom reminders to myself there - mostly tasks for characters that need specific rep. On logout, this crashed the game as well.

When were the cooldowns alterned? Do you mean that the expiration time for some of your crafting reminders has changed to an incorrect value the next time you logged in after crashing?
Yes. Today's example, a crash altered the cooldowns of my RK's ingredient crates. I logged in today to see three ingredient crate reminders. I had to manually delete one. The deletion caused a crash on logout.

Also, would you be willing to try a special version of the plugin and tell me if it fixes the problem?
Yes. I would be willing to run tests to fix it. This plugin is essential for anyone that is serious about crafting and has many alts.

The first load of Reminders was fine. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. It began picking up my cooldowns immediately. The problems began when I started customizing the window size.
