I'm still using this skin and love it, is there any chance of a fix for the U38 (Corsairs of Umbar) portrait change?

Hi,
The best way to get the skins working properly again is the devs feel a bit concerned to fix their own crap, unfortunately this is not often the case in Lotro.
The second best way is to kindly ask to Bachia as you already did

To fix the portrait issue for U38 you just need to edit your preferred UI variant`s SkinDefinition.xml file (for example, The Lord of the Rings Online\UI\Skins\JRR AzureGlass\_Custom ultrawide 3 stages toolbar\SkinDefinition.xml).
Just remove every single "vitals" word (case ignored), and it`ll work like charm. You can use any free text editor, Notepad++ as example.

First of all, this is not a fix but a workaround.
As a result the Azure Glass portraits will be replaced by the default Lotro portraits (They have a hole through which you can see the 3D portrait which has been deported to the background layer).
Where :
On your hard drive, where is located your Azure Glass installation folder.
You will have to edit the text contained inside the skindefinition.xml file (with a text editor software).
One skindefinition.xml file is located inside each skin folder. So you will have to repeat the process for each theme you want to fix.
Which lines to delete :
Each line beginning with <Mapping ArtAssetID=" followed by
player_vitals_xxx
opponent_vitals_xxx
opponenet_vitals_legendary_isengard
except player_vitals_mini_xxx

I am using the "Universal Wide Toolbar" and have noticed my characters vitals portrait in the top left hand corner of my screen and the auto attack button on the toolbar are both blue all the time. Is this the same thing being discussed about U38 and portraits or part of the skin and is supposed to be like this?
Does this too require deletion of the vitals comments?

Hi,
autoattack button should not be blue all the time : when you are in combat an animated orange circle should appear and if you have enable the autoattack, a reddish glowing should appear too.
The lotro developers have stupidly sent the 3D portrait to the background layer of the vital frame with the release of U38, it makes the 3D portrait is masked by the vital picture frame, this is why you see it full blue in azure Glass.

I am not that experienced modder, like you, but that wasn`t the case i found in some other U38 UI adaptations around.
There is no need to completely remove any of these string lines, just the "vitals" word, so that, for example "opponent_vitals_xxx" went to "opponent__xxx" with double underscore in between words. I assume (not completely sure, though) nobody deported anything to background level, just shorten the namings.
So, in my case, "workaround" was as simple, as open file in notepad++, use "Repalce" function to switch all occurencies of "vitals" for "". It have returned portraits back. Definitely can`t compare them with pre-U38 one, but looks similar, 3D and still animated =)

I tried your option. In "AzurеGlass 1x1 Wide" there are artifacts on the target's portrait.

---------------------
By the way. The latest available version of "AzureGlass 1x1 Wide" has a broken target aim panel. This is without any edits. I looked in AzureGlass Universal Wide - target aim panel is fine there.
