Great plugin!!

The only two bugs I've found is 1) it doesn't save the position on the screen when you exit. The next time you logon it is in the middle of the screen again.
2) entering combat but not fighting counts against your dps.

make sure you have the latest package.
( the main download button). as everyone should get this error if it is in there.
0.0.8.1 a -------------------

I get an error when I try to load dass, it's:

I put in the ')' and it loads fine.

Just something for your todo list: when you enter a combat but don't actually fight (ie. ride with your mount but get caught into combat) this is counted on your total dps as it shouldn't be.

Preliminary results on the no dps bug are good! 3 ppl say 0.0.8.1 fixed the issue for them so far. if it keeps coming in on the positive i will start adding features for mondays release

no modifications in the turbine folder. that is out side of my plugin directory. the issue seems to be only happening in 1 out of 50ish ppl. and im not getting a whole lot of feedback with what plugins they run along with this one etc. but it does seem that its the same issue that kragan bars has (just by the description i seen on his post) so loading dass last with the new hooks i did for the events should fix this. its hard to test something with out getting all the info from the ppl that have the error of no dps tracking showing up.

but the only way it wont display any info but shows block parry evades is, the combat event is not getting fired.

on my end i cant reproduce this error.. i have no problems running kragan and the meter at the same time. so i know that combo works.... the only way i get 0s in dps frame or heal is if i shut off the combat event... any suggestions would be helpful as this is the only bug that im aware of in the alpha

Turbine folder

Just out of interest - have you made any changes to the Turbine folder at all, or is it just a copy of the default?

0.0.8.1 is the version you want. the fixes are there. WinRar is being difficult and not updating files in the archive. let me know if this helps

im going to add a debug window with messages recieved. and some number codes that i can see where the error maybe at. ill try to have this up in a couple hours . so once that is done you can just copy and paste the contents of that window to me . with out going into your log.

the whole deal is, there are Atleast 2 variations to combat messages that get displayed by the window. (formats ). so while everything works fine on my end if i cant recreate how or why the log is different for other ppl i cant fix it.

so it is very helpful if when you do run into errors or when a display doesnt work for you that you private message me what your combat tab is outputting for that session. which is greatly appreciated.

here is a little info on how exactly the values are calculated.

a bpe is calculated by reading a message MobName tried spellname on character name but he/she (evaded, blocked, parried) the attack.
so when this message is captured a total attack attempts made on your character number is incremented by 1. and then the corresponding block parry evade variable by one. the total attack variable is incremented also on all successful attacks. the only way that this will error out and provide the wrong data is a variation with the combat messages.



as far as the dps there is nothing wrong with and how it is calculated. its quite simple and how the only real way to check actual dps. it starts when you Enter combat and ends exactly as you become out of combat. wich is 1 fight so for that fight from start time to end time it adds dmg then does the math and outputs the dps. the only problem you are getting confused "i think" are that this plugin is in real time. it does not log then read. wich if you do it that way- you will pick up say a strike that kills the monster but it will pick up all 3 hits that that spell cast and add it to the dmg, when infact the mob died before that spell was over. mine doesnt do that.

what was wrong with the dmg in 0.0.5? Damage seems to be lower then in other combat log parser

The dps meter isn't working on my lvl72 champion either. Only thing that works is BPE (which is sort of odd as champion should not be able to BPE in fervour stance) so can't tell how correct the information is there either. (0.0.5)

Does this mean you basically need combat log that shows every skill from each of the classes (level capped) ?

I was just thinking would it be a problem if one uses a custom chat tab for combat messages?

Keep up the good work and tell if we can help you out somehow.

it was to correct an error, plus if it was the same api that im using you wouldnt have needed to download the fix with turbine in the main folder. the turbine files in turbine folder, are well very old. and some need some over haul to do what needs to be done.

also the combat logs i have gotten differ in format from some people this is one main issue in parsing the text out and making it work for everyone. i personally get no errors running the meter, i just did a run with 1000 attacks done and recieved none. :/

im not by no means an accomplished lua programmer at all. but ive been programming in different variants of c and vb for almost 14 years , the whole deal with addons for this game is the ui originally its self not based on lua. so at this point and time there is alot of jerry rigging to be done to get desired effects. it just very much over complicates things. something you wouldnt find doing rift or wow addons just for examples.

I've only just noticed your pm and this update and am on my way to bed, but just one question...

Why do you make a change to a Turbine class? I'm only a novice programmer, but as this is an API that is usually accessed by multiple plugins, this screams to me of errors waiting to happen. Or was your change actually a fix that I didn't understand?

I am quite interested in this plugin, but that little detail made me a bit wary now. Please comment.
