Raid Rolls
v1.10
Description:
Raid Rolls is a utility plugin to assist in Master Looter-style treasure distribution. The plugin will monitor /rolls made by each member of the raid and highlight the highest result. Results for a member may be reset or manually entered if necessary.
Installation:
Unzip the archive file to: C:\Users\{USER}\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins
Usage:
Type /plugins load raidrolls into a chat input in the game.
Code:
/raidrolls [show | hide]
“/rr” may also be used in place of “/raidrolls.” The command without any arguments will toggle the visibility of the main window.
Click on the “Open Rolls” button to populate a list of your group members and begin monitoring for their rolls. As each member types /roll, Raid Rolls will record their result. Only the first roll of each member will be saved.
When everyone has finished rolling, click on “Close Rolls” to finalize and sort the results. If any member needs to re-roll for any reason, right click on their name in the list and select “Reset Roll Status.” If manual intervention is necessary for any reason, right click on a member’s name and select “Manually Set Roll” and type in the roll that they should have.
Options: access the options menu by right clicking anywhere on the Raid Rolls window that isn’t occupied by a raid member’s name. - Hide Window on Load: Checking this option will cause the Raid Rolls to load in a hidden state. Type “/raidrolls” or “/rr” to mak e it visible.
- Automatically Sort Rolls: This option will sort the rolls from the group as they come in, rather than just when rolls are closed.
Known Issues:
The plugin does not currently handle certain raid changes (member joins, member leaves, group disbands) well, causing client crashes in the worst cases. The safest recommendation right now is to load the plugin right before rolls are made, and to unload it when finished.
History:
2011SEP27 Initial release.
2011SEP29 Updated roll detection logic to handle non-English clients.
2011OCT06 Fixed a parsing issue with French client.
2011NOV01 Added window initial visibility and auto-sort options. Removed Turbine example dependency.
Applied Vindar’s "parse error" patch for European clients.

Yes, this is part of the Known Issues section for the plugin. The problem is due to a bug in Turbine's implementation of the Lua API. The safest thing to do is to only load the plugin when you need it for looting, and to unload it after you're done.

I play on a german Client.
I like this Plugin, it's very usefull!
But the Second time i try to load the Plugin, i get the following error:
...ings Online/PluginData/blthemac/[DE] Maiar/Macarina/RaidRolls.plugindata:3: ']' expected near ','
...Online\Plugins\LyciusPlugins\RaidRolls\RaidRoll s.lua:196: Unable to parse file!

This issue should be fixed in v1.10. If you have any more trouble, try deleting the preferences file located in C:\Users\{USER}\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\{ACCOUNT}\{SERVER}\{CHARACTER}\R aidRolls.plugindata before loading the plugin.

That did it Lycius! I still can't load from manager, but I can load it independently. Which is weird, but it works, so whatever. Haha. Much thanks.

Sorry to hear about your loss of loot -- that is rather annoying. From what I have read and experienced, the crash-to-desktop bugs arise from changes in the group being improperly handled. I'm looking into ways to address this problem, but in the mean time, the best way to avoid crashes is to unload the plugin and reload it before you loot.
I'm working on an updated version to cover some of the feature requests and bug reports that I've compiled so far. That should be ready in the near future.
|
Thank you very much for the prompt reply, but I may have not been clear. I did not crash to desktop, just completely froze and had to ctrl-alt-delete and kill LOTRO. Hope that helps,
Thanks again,
Div

Perhaps you can tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I can't seem to get the plugin to load. I've put the LyciusPlugins folder in the same folder as my other plugins, yet it refuses to load. Whenever I load it either through the Manager plugin or by itself, I get the following errors.
... Rings Online\Plugins\LyciusPlugins\Lib\LPButton.lua:3: attempt to call global 'class' (a nil value)
... Rings Online\Plugins\LyciusPlugins\Lib\__init__.lua:1: Failed to import package "LyciusPlugins.Lib.LPButton".
...Online\Plugins\LyciusPlugins\RaidRolls\RaidRoll s.lua:4: Failed to import package "LyciusPlugins.Lib".
... Online\Plugins\LyciusPlugins\RaidRolls\__init__.lu a:1: Failed to import package "LyciusPlugins.RaidRolls.RaidRolls".
...ings Online\Plugins\LyciusPlugins\RaidRolls\Main.lua:1: Failed to import package "LyciusPlugins.RaidRolls".
I really hope I'm just missing something simple, as opposed to something being broken. I have tried all three versions (1.0, 1.01, 1.02) and all do the same thing.

This is one of the known issues with the current version of the plugin that I'll be addressing with the next release. Here's a workaround in the meantime:
Quote:
In some recent testing with a friend, I realized that Raid Rolls still has some dependencies on the old Turbine example classes. I plan on making some revisions to remove the dependencies in the near future.
In the meantime, if you follow the instructions in this post to install the example scripts, it should alleviate the issue.
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: CRASHES CLIENT

I tested this out earlier tonight and it worked great, I loved it, was excited to use this convenient shortcut. I later was playing with it, and tried to manually edit a roll and froze. I thought perhaps it was just LOTRO being itself. I just ran a 12-man Skirm and had the loot on Master Looter, I hit the chest, but as soon as I hit the 'open rolls' button, I froze. We lost all the loot (luckily no symbol) but it was a huge downer. Any insight as to the cause?
Thanks,

Hi and thanks for this great plugin.
I'm run Lotro on a french Windows and Raid rolls stops functionning after the first use.
"RaidRolls.plugindata" make it bug on next loading due to the coma/dot issue.
... /RaidRolls.plugindata:3: ']' expected near ','

Re: Re: Feature request

The plugin will actually ignore anything that is not in the standard, no parameter "/roll" format. It won't pick up output by people using "/roll 1000," for example, nor will it pick up false positives from "/em rolls (100): 100."
|
I can confirm the non-standard roll part of that. I tested and it won't pick up any roll other than a standard /roll 100.
I've also had minor difficulties when leading pug raids. I noticed that some people were rolling, but their rolls weren't showing up in the plugin. I was too busy at the time to investigate, since it was a skirmish raid and you have to be done within 5 minutes after completing or you'll be booted from the instance, but thinking back I later decided that it seemed to have something to do with whether people had rolled on the previous item or not. If there's any 'memory' of previous rolls in place, you should probably change the 'Open Rolls' button to completely wipe that memory and rebuild the raid member list.

Re: Feature request
Quote:
Hi Lycius,
Could you please add a column that displays what number each member rolled out of? It should be fairly easy to parse from the chat log. This would be extremely useful for anyone who needs to monitor what people are /rolling, since a quickly scrolling chat box makes it difficult to verify that all members are rolling correctly (even if it is simply ensuring that everyone rolled out of 100).
Thanks! This is a great plugin. I had started working on this same concept myself, but can stop now that it's already developed! =)

Hard to reproduce but i occasionally crash when using the plugins, always happen when opening rolls after closing it in 12 man raid. I was not raid leader at the time but i don't think it has something to do with that.
Maybe due to the current lua backpack crash thing that turbine is going to fix, but the crash is definitely related to the plugin
Also, when people are getting out of raid and getting replaced, the plugins sometimes have a hard time to keep up, closing rolls and reopening them don't update the people, so sometimes i have only 10 or 11 people in the plugins but the raid is a full 12 man one.
Only way to fix that when it happens is unloading the plugin and reloading it again.
Expect that, wonderful plugin of really good use

We were in a raid tonight, and people that joined the raid after I loaded raid rolls didn't show up at all in the raid rolls window. The only solution I could find was to unload the plugin and reload it.
It seems like when people drop, I can hit close rolls and then open rolls and it will add them to the list, but there didn't seem to be anyway to get people added.
|
Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like the crash to desktop issue in this case is related to group updates, rather than the known inventory access issue. I'll see what I can figure out in terms of a solution for that, as well as proper group member refreshing.
