3 consecutive virtues with related effects
|
|
Rearranges the order of the virtues on the Virtues tab of the Traits panel.
By default they are in alphabetical order, which isn't too useful for understanding them or figuring out what you want to use.
I've changed them so they are ordered by effects. Moving clockwise around the circle the secondary effect on the current virtue will be the primary effect on the next. In this way it's easier to find all the traits which are valuable to your character.
For a nice graphical understanding of what I'm talking about, lotro-wiki's Virtue Effects Table page has 2 tables, one with the virtues ordered alphabetically and the 2nd is ordered by effect. Notice how the logic of the virtues becomes clear when ordered by effect.

How do I make this work?
I tried following the instructions for modifying skins, but cannot for the life of me get this to work. They are still in alphabetical order! Please help!

So you were trying to add this panel xml to an already in-use custom skin you are using?
In that case, it should be fairly straight forward.
1) Close the game
2) Copy the PanelFile element (and everything inside it) to your existing SkinDefinition.xml, puting it at the end of the file right before the closing opt tag.
3) Restart the game
If you've followed these instructions and are seeing your original custom skin, but not my changes to the traits panel, then I don't know what could be wrong.

Most likely you have the opt tag twice at the end of the file. Remove one and it should work. I made the same mistake.
Hope this helps.

This is the ONLY skin I have. I created a separate Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\Virtues Organized folder for it. Followed these instructions: http://www.lotrointerface.com/forums...q_installation
It still doesn't work.

Re: Re: Re: How do I make this work?
I'm sorry, but you'll have to double-check your skindefinition.xml file, because I assure you that it works. The instructions you posted there seem correct after a quick glance.

Finally! Got it to work! Had to 'open' it, log out, and back on to get it to work, but it's workin' now! Thanks for this plugin! Makes Virtue selection much easier!

Unfortunately, the cyclical nature of the virtues is no longer perfect because of the changes to Zeal. It would have had 2 Resist ratings under the consolidated values, so they broke the pattern instead. I'll be leaving this addon as is, because it's still better than the default layout.
