first of all, thanks for this really good plugin.

after using it 3 or 4 times (everything worked fine so far), i got the following error:
... Online/PluginData/Account/[DE] Vanyar/Character/GambitHelper.plugindata:3: ']' expected near ','
... Online\Plugins\ZanttuxPlugins\GambitHelper\Main.lu a:14: Unable to parse file!

Everytime I get this error, I have to delete the content of the PluginData/.../Character folder and everything is working again.

Appreciate your help.

New version...

Version 0.2.7 is now uploaded.

Fixes: 'Class' dependency issue and should fix GE/FR client issues.

Note: the old plugindata file is again incompatible with new version so please delete it before loading updated version.

@123meins: sorry for not responding, been too busy with RL, this update should fix your problem.

Resize

I'm a new hand at using plugins and such in lotro, so far I think this one is great, but would like to know if there is a way to resize it. It is a touch small for me to read easily in some cases.

Thanks for the plugin!

I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks for putting this plugin together, I really enjoy it! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do in the future.

Suggestion

I was wondering if it's possible to enhance the plugin so that when you hover over the gambit icons (when they're enabled) that the corresponding tooltip would pop up?

Again, thanks for the plugin.

It was showing only the first gambit-building skill icon for me until I closed the options window. It was very confusing at first. I thought it wasn't going to work for me for some reason.

I echo the view that it would be nice to dim or remove gambits that are unavailable based on what attack skills have been used. Either way, though, it's easier than referring to my spreadsheet during combat.

Thanks very much for this plugin!

After using this plugin regularly, I find I have one more suggestion. Would it be possible to let users change the numbers associated with the gambit builders? I would like to be able to swap 2 and 3, as I sometimes find myself hitting the number keys you use instead of mine (I try to go by color, but the numbers get into my brain at times).

Again, thanks for this plugin!

I can't get this plugin to work, along with the drag plugin (its loaded in the same directory)... I always get the same error message.

I'd been using WardenEase but decided I wanted to put more effort to just learn the gambits. I absolutely love this plugin, it's been a huge help with my new warden. Thanks

@jkouzes - You don't have to activate the dragbar plugin, you only need it installed. Make sure you've put the files in the correct folders and kept the proper file structure. I don't actually load dragbar in game and gambit helper works just fine for me. It also by default will not appear out of combat.

Dragbar and Gambit Helper should not be in the same directory. Dragbar should be in plugins\DeusDictum and GambitHelper should be in plugins\ZanttuxPlugins.

Sad news!

Sad news I'm afraid. I have no time to develop this plugin any further, dont really have time to even play, still haven't checked roi even tho I preordered it

So If someone would like to take over this project, please feel free to do it. I think there's still lots of features that could be added but oh well, cant win allways.

does anyone have any interest in updating this? i am not a programmer at all but i'd be willing to giving it a shot. i love this mod and it really helps me play my warden. but recent updates have made it wildly out of date...

Thumbs up Update 6

I am a programmer (not LUA, but I can read it.)

It looks pretty simple to mod, but it's going to be a lot of work.

Here is a summary of the warden stances.
http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...s-for-Update-6

Gambitdata.lua has that list with the levels.

The Resources directory has all the icon data which shows on the screen, inlcuding the text of the effects. I'm not sure why the author chose this approach instead of writing text over an image in code.

The Resources/Icons directory has the Single Icon data.

I reccomend creating directories under the Resource Directory called NoStance, Determination, Recklessness and Assailment and put a duplicate set of icons there with the correct contents for those stances.

Once that is done, it should be simple to add the callbacks to recognize stance changes (I'd borrow from one of the minstrel plugins ) I'll help with that if nobody more qualified shows up. Oneplace to start would be the addcallback function in Minstrelbuffs. It looks pretty trivial to add stance recognition.

Send me a PM if I han help.

Sad to hear you don't have time to maintain Gambit Helper. I already PMd you on the forum you if it was okay if I'd take over, and looks like it is

I did already update GH to the current version (Update 6) and will upload it here later on when all seems okay.
