Sounds like they fixed the API issue

Let's hope it's true!

Goog Luck and Good Hunting to you

I ran into some nasty client stability issues with Tobii on Bullroarer. While the BR version should work in RoI, I wouldn't recommend it until I've had some time in RoI on Live to verify that Tobii isn't going to kill your client.

Any chance of an actual date on when an ROI version of Tobii will be available?

After tooling around Bullroarer (hooray for Beta access), I noticed that the events are firing correctly..... hopefully that means that Tobii will be back for RoI WITHOUT the need to have a wrapper plugin.... I'm working on a BR version, which will (hopefully) get it working correctly again

That was exactly what I was planing to do as next step as well. But now, I'll give another aproach a try:

1. watch the bagpack from the wrapper plugin
2. start a short timer (~500ms) if any bagpack event is fired
3. on timer event reload the visual plugin

What du you think about this? Any pitfalls you can think about?

After putting much thought into it, I think having a state manager sitting in global memory that can be accessed across code apartments is the best way to go. This way you can ensure that the backpack plugin and the wrapper plugin (or, what I will likely do, the primary plugin with the work around plugin) stay in synch, and you don't end up with a state where the wrapper thinks the inventory is open when it's really closed.

Also had a look at the codebase.... should be able to get a warning when you have inventory spaces that aren't being displayed properly, which will probably be turning part of the UI red - more to save the user annoyance from message spam than anything else. If anyone has a better idea for a warning system, I'm all ears.

I'm also looking at a few other internal changes, and (hopefully) an item counter.

Well, I'm using a workarround (read: no fix) for that issue, that is somehow similar to Habnas Utility-Plugin. I've created a wrapper plugin, that simply loads my inventory plugin on request. The details can by found in the turbine forum: > click <
Had a look at that....

Gonna try to modify Tobii such that enabling/disabling the workaround functionality is as simple as including/removing the slave plugin file.

Added a future enhancement, no release (yet), but I'm hopeful to get a few more features added on.

I'm also looking at HugeBag for some of the desynch recovery code used that will (hopefully) give it a work around for the API issues.

I have not forgotten this plugin.... I've been waiting for Turbine to fix their API before pressing forward with development. It's been 6 months since they broke it, so it's time to assume it will never get fixed, find a work around, and get this plugin working again.

Thanks for checking. I love this plugin, but with that bug it makes it very difficult and confusing. I understand it's not your fault though.

Keep up the good work!

I tested it on Bullroarer, and the same issues were present.

I'll test it again on Live, but I doubt that they snuck in a Lua API fix between Update 2 Bullroarer Update 2 (that sounds redundant XD) and Live.

Any word if Update 2 fixed the desynching problem?

Yep, that's the desynching problem.

The only solution, at this point, is to reload Tobii when you detect the issue.

It sucks... but I can't fix the Turbine API, which is where the problem lies.
