Lotro Mod Manager
The Lotro Mod Manager is a tool to help manage mods that interface with the Lord of the Rings Online game. This tool allows people with very little computer experience to enjoy all the mods available for Lord of the Rings Online.
So how does it work?
The Mod Manager keeps its own set of plugins. When you want to use one, you can activate the mod (which just copies it into your LotRO\plugins directory) and then all you do is load the mod using the in-game commands.
Simple!
When you download and extract the latest.zip file, you will see a folder with 'Sample Downloads'. Just drag and drop the mods you want into the mod manager.
Once you have done that, right-click on a mod and select 'Activate'.
Isn't there's already a Plugin Manager?
If you are thinking of
PluginManager by Cearbhall, then that is a plugin manager for INSIDE LotRO.
This Lotro Mod Manager will put folders inside your LotRO\Plugins directory that Cearbhall's Plugin Manager can detect. It will detect the plugins when you type in "/plugins load manager" inside Lotro.
I've made my own plugin, how can I make a LotroMod?
The Mod Manager can automatically work with your existing plugins. All you need to do is drag and drop your plugin zip file on to the Mod Manager window and you will automatically be asked to fill in some information about it.
Once you have filled in your information, right click on your plugin in the Mod Manager window and choose "Export to LotroMod". Then you can share your LotroMod file with the whole world!
Currently, the Mod Manager works with Lua Plugins, although we are constantly developing and are planning to tackle the interface.
Note: Please be aware that this Mod Manager requires .Net Framework 4.0, which you can download from the
Microsoft website here.
The standard install comes with the following plugins:
- BuffBars
- DragBar
- Emo
- Horsey
- Lotropad
- Palantir
- PluginManager
- TonicBars
- TravelWindow
- Standard Turbine Utilities & API
NOTE: These mods are being packaged for your convenience. You will find credits and author attribution in the plugin description.
If you are a plugin author, you are encouraged to release your own LotroMod version here
