Error message recieved when logging on and loading this plugin on a low level minstrel. Anybody have any ideas? Works well on my hunter, it just won't let me configure and show oils in the oil bar, and seems to load properly for a couple other new alts, but will not load properly for my minstrel.

While in combat it proceeds to spit out a ton of errors...

SkillSlot.lua:82: attempt to index global 'KragenBars' (a nil value)
Quote:
ClassBar.lua:72: attempt to index global 'KragenBars' (a nil value)
Quote:
ClassBar.lua:77: attempt to index global 'KragenBars' (a nil value)
They just seem to repeat over and over until I'm out of combat.

[Edit] Well do I feel sheepish. I read a comment further down the page about deleting plugin data, did it, and it loaded fine. That works just fine for me since the addon takes a matter of milliseconds to unload and reload lol.

I really love this plugin!

Would it be possible to add movable fervour bar for champ (like the rk attunementb). I would really love this feature! I always hated the unmovable fervour meter.

I also have KragenBars on to of my lotro main bar. I found that if you use ctrl+\ to move elements, the main bar will sit on top of the plugins icons. Simply reloading the plugin after moving your interface should solve the problem.

Layer Priority

I use a very simple plan for my lay out and like to have the kragenbars sit on top of the lotro tool bars and this worked fin until I updated to the latest version. Is there a way to do this again?

I just did the same thing and havent got it restored yet. I will check again to remove all files, but this is the error I get when I try and drag the missing BASH skill back onto the block bar.

...s Online\Plugins\KragenPlugs\KragenBars\ClassBar.lua :446: attempt to index field 'parent' (a nil value)

I got it working by removing everything, but havent yet figured out how to reorder the skills. For example, I would like to change the order of the parry skills, but havent got that down yet (if it is possible).

It also would be great if the Overpower and Block chains could be stacked (since they both cant be active at once) that would save some screen space. As of now, whichever is on top (even if invisible) is the only one that can be clicked.

Any way to restore the default buttons, not just the default positions?

Somehow I accidentally moved the Guardian skill Bash from the block-reactive bar to the self-buff bar and now it's stuck in that bar. I've tried everything I can think of. The slots aren't locked but the alt-drag to remove it from the bar doesn't work. I've reloaded the plugin but it seems to have saved the layout I don't want. I've reset the position of it and I've restarted the game.

I haven't reinstalled the plugin though but that will be my next step.

Just thought I'd mention it here. A reset function would be nice to have.

EDIT: just reinstalled the plugin but it's still the same, any ideas?

EDIT 2: I just went through all my user folders and deleted all KragenBarsSettings-files and then it worked. No idea why it didn't reset when I deleted the one for the char I was playing only but hey, works now again.

Best Plugin Ever

I love this Plugin very, very much. The only thing i can think of that i would like additionally, is the ablity to auto-populate a window that contains either the lowest level potion in your inventory or the highest level. Is that possible? I don't want to use multiple plugins, so if that was added to this i would be in love...

Is there anyway to assign a specific bar a Shift, Ctrl or Alt key combo?

So when a gated skill comes up you can just hit (Shift + 1) or something along those lines?

Possible?
I'm afraid this is not possible with the current API. Turbine has not given LUA the ability to bind to keys. Perhaps they will in the future.

Yes, and I can see that is has some of my powers here... and some of my powers there... and some are up there... while others are down there - and I don't understand WHY they're like that!

It may seem peevish and foolish, but there's no listing of what the logic behind the various arrangements is. They don't quite have labels - not that I'm saying you need to clutter the UI with extra labels and tooltips! There's no indication of what powers might/should go in which bar, or what the bars are for.

Ultimately, I'm realizing that the various 'bars' plug-ins are not going to work for me, but part of that is simply because I don't understand what they're trying to do for me. And, while you have very clearly described the changes and improvements you've made, there is no documentation describing the function of the plug-in, or how to Use it.

And, I realize that this is true of just about every plug-in and mod ever made in the history of gaming! However, Kragenbars seems to be a very sophisticated and complex bit of programming - a 'users manual' of some sort, would be very useful for people who haven't had lots of experience with it.

What level is your character and what class? The reason your skills may seem very spread out is all the skills you will get are layed out on the bars, then skills you are not high enough level for are hidden. They will show up to you as you level. You can right click the KragenBars icon and click refresh when you train new skills after leveling to reveal them on the bars.

The skills are layed out based on what they do as a default only (block skills together, parry skills together, defeat responses together, heals together etc). But you should feel free to move the slots and bars around to make your own custom UI. Really the bars are just to group skills. They have no special functionality (all the functionality is programmed directly into the skill slots and will remain even if you move it to another bar). Up above and in the readme you will find most the functionality is documented and all the active components are listed for each class.

If you use Ctrl+\ (the key command that unlocks your UI allowing you to move stuff around) it will reveal labels on the bars telling you the name of each bar. We are working on tooltips for the setup window and a help section that will eventually include all key commands and stuff like that. I will consider putting together more comprehensive documentation.

Re: Is there a Manual for this?

KragenBars looks to be the plug-in to solve all of my problems... sorta. I installed it and... well, all of my buttons are different now and I can see that they're grouped in a logical fashion, but now what?

I guess, coming at it cold, I'm left clueless. What does Kragenbars do? How does it do it? How do I make Kragenbars work? How do I make it do what _I_ want?

So far, it feels like some other user has taken control, moved my buttons around, tossed out my resource-harvesting and potion/food buttons, killed my horse, and basically changed the UI to suit a stranger's playstyle.

So, is there a Manual, where I can learn what the various new bars are supposed to do, what powers and things are supposed to go in each bar, how to move them around, how to change them, if I want to? Where I can leaarn which ones should Not be changed, and basically how to take control and make Kragenbars 'My' interface of choice, rather than some random stranger's playground?

Also, is there a way to assign keyboard buttons to the various bars and slots? I hate having to go to the Mouse, every time I want to use a special power.

Be Well!

What exactly are you looking to get out of the plugin? There are numerous options for customizing your bars:

- Use Ctrl-\ to move them to where you want them and rotate them.
- Use alt-drag to remove skills off them if you only want to use it for certain skills.
- Drag and drop the skills to swap them between different bars.
- You can go into setup and remove entire bars or make them bigger and smaller under the button bars tab.
- You can create new bars under the button bars tab where you can put your horse, or pots or whatever you want.
- You can set any bar to only be visible in or out of combat.

Basically each class has skills that are activated on KragenBars. Champions defeat responses only show up in the appropriate stance and when you have a defeat response. Guardians Block/Parry skills only show up with the proper reactive and the Overpower skills only show up you are in overpower. You can choose to only use those bars, or you can use the plugin as a total quickslot replacement.

As far as keybindings, it currently is not possible with the LUA API. Hopefully they add it at some point though.
