I'm back again with a slight question/problem. It's not a big deal for me, but I noticed, if I use the plugin manager from character load screen, songbook won't save quickslots. So I log off, log back on, and have to drag all my instrument back on if I use slots. Any ideas how I can fix this?
|
Looks like it's a problem with the new plugin manager. I've been reading that lots of plugins that use quickslots have problems with it. One workaround could be that you use a community made plugin manager to load Songbook. (And load the manager with the new internal manager). I will add update Songbook to support this new one once I know what the problems are.

I'm having the issue states here;
http://chiran.lotrointerface.com/por...a=faq&faqid=15
It'd odd because it works for my brother's account, but not mine. Even though we're on the same computer, launch from the same client, and I'm pretty damn sure we have identical settings.
For the most part. I've exhausted most resources, even bothering the advice channel.
Nothing has helped. And a player made a note that even reinstalling the plugin may not help, implying that the "installer" is the one who gets the benefits of the plugins. Or something.
I'm hoping that by posting here, I may get some new intel on the issue.

Not sure what the problem might be. There's a few things that are required for it to work.
1) plugin files must be in the correct folder with the correct folder structure
2) songbook.hta file must be run once before running the plugin (and after adding/deleting music files
3) songbook.hta must be able to locate your lotro user folder
4) music files need to be in the correct place (and songbook.hta must find them)
5) there are some restrictions on the format of the abc files themselves, some files might not work or even break the music library
There's no other error message I take it? Do other plugins work?

Learned Moor Cowbell so updated Songbook to hold 10 instruments. Made container size 405 and changed number of slots to 10. Everything working as designed... just fyi
Thanks again, loving this mod

Definitely like this app, so helpful for music, especially group songs. One slight bug though. every so often the music mode button stops working. Unloading/reloading plugins fixes it though.
|
Oh, thanks for the report. Haven't seen that but will keep an eye on it.

Re: more instrument slots

ok i took care of it... plz dont be upset with me, but I changed the 8's to 9's and the container size to 365 and got the 9th slot (had to delete the plugindata file as well)...
|
Heh ok. I guess it's (or was) mostly a screen estate and user interface issue, but I'll keep that in mind in future versions.

but now i have another qusetion and maybe i just missed the answer... is there a way to refresh the songlist ingame without reloading the game?
|
Yes, you can refresh it by unloading the plugin and then reloading it. So you just type '/plugins unload' and then '/plugins load songbook'. The former command unloads all plugins. You can't reload single plugins yet. But you can bind the commands to quickslots as well so it's quite convenient.

more instrument slots
hi... great mod... thanks for keeping up with it... but can I ask... any chance of making more instrument slots...
I have 9 atm and actually if I got moor cowbell then I would have 10 different instruments (altough I guess both the cowbells sound the same)... thanks again

Re: hta file opening up in notepad

the title says it all. i'm fairly clueless as how to fix this problem. i double click the songbook html application and it opens in notepad. i just upgraded to 0.83 and can't build the library. i already trashed 0.82
OK - figured it out. Instead of just opening it up directly from the Chiran folder, I opened the songbook html directly from IE and it worked.
|
Ok, good to hear . It's also possible to make it open directly by double clicking. I have some sort of explanation of it here:
