Hi,
I tried to cover most common problems here: http://chiran.lotrointerface.com/por...a=faq&faqid=15
Usually the error happens when the plugin directory structure is not correct or the songbook.plugin is in the wrong place.

Pressing Alt+Enter will toggle between windowed mode and full screen. There's also a switch for that in the game options.
What kind of problem are you having with installing it? Have you used other plugins before?

If you use shady's manager you can do this with a /rl which is damn useful!

Would that be possible to a add button that launch the songbook.hta IG? We know where the file is. (could be done within parameters area)

Not possible .

To refresh the plugin is quite easy. I remove the plugins with the options, refresh all plugins, and launch again, and most of the time, it is there. no need to restart the game everytime. Well it worked for me.

Thanks, nice to hear that you are enjoying it . Unfortunately the plugin works so that every time you add/remove songs, you have to run songbook.hta and reload the plugin to refresh the library. Otherwise you won't see the changes in the ingame plugin. Hopefully it won't be a huge inconvenience to you and you can still enjoy the plugin .
In theory it could be possible to make an application that would always run on the background and monitor the Music folder, but I didn't want to go that far.

Great tool !!
Our band was having a rehearsal and we were downloading songs from TheFatLute.com, but they were not appearing in the songbook.
We needed to exit game to refresh the list, unless there is an option and just did not know where to go.
Thanks for the Great Plugin!!

Anyhow, any chance I can send you the corrected patch of the file for the French version of the "sync" part?

Localizations can definately be a headache, especially when it's depended on the game client locale, windows locale and number settings. In this case I think it could help if you use a decent notepad, like Notepad++ and try to convert/save the file in 'UTF-8 without BOM' format. If you like, you can send it to me at chiran[at]theroadgoeson.org.
And thanks for helping out with this . I probably should install the French client as well. I have tested with the German version though.

Hey! Great job on this plugins. I am no king at LUA programming, actually I know nothing about it, I am more on the graphic side hehe.
I was able tho to fix the French version of the 'sync' part, but still haven't fix the 'débutmusique' which isn't read correctly in LUA format. I tried to open de songbookLang.LUA to try to fix it, but even tho I do not touch anything, and save it, it give me this error after :
Code:
...ts\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookLang.lua:1: '=' expected near '»'
Like I mention, even tho I do not change anything in the script, I get this error. So of course, as a result of this error, it tells me this error too :
Code:
...of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\Main.lua:6: Failed to import package "Chiran.Songbook.SongbookLang".
Which makes sense. It seems that it can't save on the good format. Any ideas? I used notepad, didn't try with any other editor tho, like Dreamweaver.
Anyhow, any chance I can send you the corrected patch of the file for the French version of the "sync" part?

Trying to figure out correct folders and usernames automatically can lead to errors at times. But it's good to see you have figured out some solutions. Personally I rather try to solve them than advise to manually edit the script, but hey whatever works =). Besides I cannot really test every combination and windows environment so there's bound to be some situation I haven't thought of.

just incase its not already posted ( i didn't see it )
to fix the enter lotro username error even after trying the make a shortcut and adding your username there.
edit the file ( the songbook.vbs )and change this
Code:
'Get lotro username
lotroUser = Wscript.Arguments.Item(0)
If lotroUser = "" Then
MsgBox "Please enter Lotro username as a parameter" & vbCrLf & "(e.g. songbook.vbs myname)", 16, "Songbook"
Wscript.Quit
End If
to this
Code:
'Get lotro username
lotroUser = Wscript.Arguments.Item(0)
If lotroUser = "chiron" Then
MsgBox "Please enter Lotro username as a parameter" & vbCrLf & "(e.g. songbook.vbs myname)", 16, "Songbook"
Wscript.Quit
End If
then save and run - should work.
obiviously change chiron to your account username
(vista user 32bit here )
if this was already cleared up sorry i didn't see it.
also if the .hta file is opening up notepad then the correct thing to make it always open with is Mshta.exe funny i find that out after all that ^ above lol

PluginData

Looks like it's another string conversion problem. I can try to test it. But at the moment I would just suggest you try deleting SongbookSettings.plugindata (from /The Lord of the Rings Online/PluginData/<lotrouser>/AllServers/) and verify that you are using Songbook 0.72. Then try loading the plugin once more. If that doesn't work then there's some sort of clash with the client locale or windows language settings. I've tried to anticipate those, but Turbine doesn't make it easy for us.

After two of my friends had this problem I started searching for the problem and have found a fix and the reason. This happens when you update your songbook Music library for the first time and you either leave the name space blank or type in the wrong name. It must be the same as your account login name for the plugin to install the needed files. To fix this, do as Chiran stated and erase the PluginData folder, then update your music library again !!important!! don't forget to type in the correct account name into the box!! then enjoy.
I hope this helps , it worked by my friends. I gave them a copy of songbook from my exrernal hard drive and I think this had something to do with the problem in the first place.
I also wanted to thank Chiran for the plug-in, this plug-in rulezz You have gave me and my guildmates hours of fun.
