Is the file empty then? Does it contain anything if you look at it in notepad?
-Chiran

Code:
"return
{
["WindowOpacity"] = "0.9",
["WindowPosition"] =
{
["Top"] = 183.000000,
["Height"] = 500.000000,
["Left"] = 815.000000,
["Width"] = 360.000000

Oh, that sounds like the contents of SongbookSettings.plugindata. Are you sure there's also SongbookData.plugindata? If not, that would mean that the plugin can save there just fine but the vbs script cannot. So perhaps it's looking for that directory in the wrong place, but as to why... clueless so far .

This version of the vbs script should tell you where it tries to save data.

This is the error I'm getting:
You said something about case-sensitivity in the Target field... does it perhaps matter that my LOTRO username is lowercase?

not only did it show where it saved it also just simply works hehe. the songbookdata file was created this time. btw you were correct in my previous file only being the settings file it was saving and not the data one too. but it all works with this new .vbs file so thanks!

i was getting that error too but only when i didnt create a shortcut and add the account name to the target path in the properties of the shortcut file. main reason i'm replying to you is to let you know that mine works and all my letters too are lowercase.

The thing is though that I did create the shortcut and add my username to the end of the Target path.
Unfortunately I may just have to give up on this plugin

There's still mystery to this why it doesn't always work smoothly. I will try to make the vbs more robust . Did you check that the Music directory mentioned in the popup actually exists, or could it be that your documents folder has been relocated to someplace else? (heh just being hopeful here)

Unable to run vbs on WinVista Home
I get an error that windows doesn't know what program to use to run vbs so I can't do anything with the script at all.
any ideas?

Found the answer to re-enabling VBS scripting on Vista:
HERE. I ended up using the registry file, as the first options didn't work correctly on my system.

Re: Re: Unable to run vbs on WinVista Home
I added a few major features and raised the version number to 0.50. Both data and user interface side got more complex so I expect there will be bugs. (plus the normal problems with the vbs script, of course )
New version now includes:
-Support for sub directories
-Support for real song names
-Support for songs with multiple tracks

Click the big download icon at the top? The bottom link is an old archive version. I guess I could remove it actually.
