locking the contents of the bars

Hello

Is there anyway to lock the content of the bars? I got the bars locked so they wont move but the contents are movable. I have a habit of losing the contents when my hand jerks.

Re: Problem

I've not heard of similar issues, so, I'll ask a few to help me figure out what's going on.

Are you trying to install the v1.3 version of Tonicbars? Is this the first time you have tried to use the plugin? If not, which version did you last use.

Did you try to modify the .lua files?
Does the /Tonic/TonicBars/SettingsManager.lua file exist?

Another thing to try: delete the "The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\NuclearTonic\<ServerName>\AllCha racters\TonicBarSettings.plugindata" file. You'll lose you existing settings, but it might fix your issue.

P.S. great mod, keep up the great work.
Thanks, glad you got it up and running!

The next addition will have a lot of fixes for Menu Annoyances. These things all worked at one time and aren't critical enough to get fixed immediately. This will be the time I add some polish again. The Main Menu stuff is much better than the original release, but requires constant dedication.

I'm sorry you are having issues. I think I'll start including the Turbine Library as part of my zip going forward. That should help avoid these problems.

The error message:
<path> Settingsmanger.lua:7: Unable to resolve package "turbine.utils"

Is indicating that it can't find the Turbine Support library. It should be located:
"C:\users\galeric\my documents\lord of the rings online\plugins\Turbine\..."

Inside of that turbine directory should be: Animation, Debug, Test, UI, Utils. Once that's in place you should be good to go.

Hey there,

According to other comments and suggestions here i am having a directory problem.. however i am in windows 7 and the directory structure you are saying i need cant work.

For instance.. mine would be --

C:\users\galeric\my documents\lord of the rings online\plugins\tonic

Now does this mean i am hosed and cant use your nifty plugin, or is there another way of doing this?

Ok i have error messages---

<path> Settingsmanger.lua:7: Unable to resolve package "turbine.utils"

I have downloaded the package from turbine and have copies of it all over, i am sensing this is the package in the wrong place.. throw me a clue please?

Lichbane Suggestions. Thank you!! I've been waiting for feedback to really move forward.

You will now have 4 options: Show Extension(s), Show & Rollup Selection, Select Random Shortcut, Cycle Shortcuts. Will upload the new version shortly.

Sorry, I can't do the "Appear on Available" It would have helped a lot on multiple fronts!

Truthfully I've never loaded the direct competing plugins to TonicBars. I don't care what they are doing, or what features they have. I've added what I want to play on my characters, and if the community requests things I'll add it!

I had thought about the Cycled button as a different option for Extensions. (Really it was one of the main reasons I liked the name extension as it described many variable options to extend a bar) The option would look like: when I mouse over this quickslot... "Open the entire Bar", "Cycle Through the shortcuts", and I can think of a few more.

Suggestions:

Last button Used: Extension’s base button to display the last button used in the extension (I know this treads on “popup bars” turf, so I’d understand if you want to leave this out).

Cycled Button: Set up a Cycled bar like an extension. Clicking on the button brings the next button in the cycle, similar to the way WoW does the button cycling macro's. Orginally I thought of stance cycling, but I can see this could be abused, especially for warden gambits; I understand if you wouldn't want to implement this.

Appear on Available: An option for a button so that it only is appears when is available for use. This could be useful for reactive abilities, hunter skills requiring certain focus and so on. It would make for very clean UI's.

Download this link: Supporting Library and install it in a similar way. Turbine provided developers with a supporting library, and this is it. For more instructions visit: The Official LOTRO Lua Forum

Your path is wrong. It should look like: "C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\tonic\" Under that directory should be a "UI" "TonicBars" and a "Util" folder.

If you look in C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\tonicbars there is probaby a folder in there called "\Tonic" just copy that directly into "C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\" and you should be good to go.

Well, i tried it again, and it still doesn't register. My link is C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\tonicbars

This goes into the more specific stuff. And i use the same method that got the other plugin to work, but this one doesn't. I don't understand what i'm doing wrong

Based on the description it sounds like you might have an extra directory in the path.

it should look like: "/lord of the rings online/plugins/tonic/..." My assumption is that you have an extra directory in there "/lord of the rings online/plugins/<tonicbars_v1.2>/tonic/..." and that won't work. If that's not it let me know. Do you have a plugin manager or something?

To load the plugin type: "/plugins load tonicbars" and to unload it "/plugins unload tonicbars"

If you load it and you don't see errors on the console window, look in the upper left of your window for an icon with a Green Goblet in it. You can move that anywhere on the window and click it to get the main menu.

**also make sure you have the supporting Turbine Library a direct link can be found: http://content.turbine.com/sites/lotro/lua/Beta_LuaPlugins.7z
