Wow, thanks

I think it'll be slick to give priority to, or lower priority to, the extension bars in different situations.

I listed the first, where I wanted the extension to ride 'over' BuffBars.

There was another I came across where I wanted to put a TB right where the Alt, Ctrl, Shft standard bars come up (I don't show those all the time, only when I hold a corresponding key), but when I did that, the TB 'main' bar sat 'over' those bars. In that situation, it would be nice to set the main bar to sit 'behind' those bars.

So I don't know if that helps at all, but I guess both main bars and extension bars might need their own z-order (again, for lack of better term).

Hopefully they'll offer the same with BuffBars. To me, I'd always want to offset those such that other windows would have priority, in the event they opened.

Thanks again

I posted this over on BuffBars, but thought I'd throw it here as well as a 'food for thought':
Thank you! There is definitely something I can do. I don't set z-order on any of my bars right now. For one of many reasons. But, if that's something that you want to be able to control. I can definitely hook you up. I'll add it to my list of small improvements to be made soon.

Do they give the LUA scripters control over z-order (for lack of better term) for windows?

I ask because I also use TonicBars and really wanted to stack BuffBars (rolling top to bottom) right above a custom TonicBars I made, but would like those bars to show 'over' BuffBars when I roll over a main button and it shows and extension. Sadly they show 'under'.

Was just curious if that was something you folks could do.

Sorry to hear about your horrible week. When it rains, it pours. Just be thankful no one was seriously hurt and hopefully you've had your string of bad luck for awhile.

Thanks for the update in accordance with the November patch. Everything looks great. The only thing that I noticed that worked differently than before is that when you have a bar set to 0 opacity with the box check to show on mouse-over the bars will show when the plugin is loaded as well. Not a major issue as one passover with the mouse will hide them but just thought that I'd mention it.

Best of luck and take care.

oh my ...

The best in all that is that your family and yourself are alive and will be able in some months to smile at that.

Take care of you, de-stress, kiss your wife and smile.

Everything beside that is material stuff that can be replaced.

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you. It's been a VERY... VERY bad week personally... Well Pump died on the house, Snow plow hit the mailbox, Hit a deer on Friday and someone hit the wifes van on Sunday and totaled it (everyone's ok)... All in less than a week. So, I'll be back working on this stuff soon, but I have to straighten out a lot personally first.

Any plans to make the bars hide with the F12 "hide interface" function?
Yes, this was working at one point and it was broken recently, I'll be fixing that soon. Thanks for the report.

Any plans to make the bars hide with the F12 "hide interface" function? I play with a plasma screen as a monitor and so to prevent image retention, I frequently shut off my UI when travelling, etc. (anything that doesn't require the UI). Tonicbars is currently the only plugin I have where it doesn't hide when I hide the rest of the UI. Thanks!

Scratch that, I was able to find the data file and the orphaned bar and just delete it from the data file (while I was out of the game) and when I logged back in as that character, was able to start adding bars again.

I was getting this error [..s Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\Bars\BarManager.lua :60: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)] or very similar and started digging around in the plugin data file and found that one of my extension bars was linked off another extension bar. I'm not sure how I ended up doing that, but I did. I couldn't delete the extension bar (just got an error), nor could I manipulate it in any way. I ended up changing the data file so that it was off a main bar instead, and then was able to delete it (it was empty anyway). I was able to recreate the problem by trying to add an extension bar off an existing extension. It failed to add the bar, but screwed up the data file anyway.
Just wanted to give you a heads up.
Thanks for the great plugin!

I'm having this same issue now. I tried to make an extension off an extension and received a 135 error, but it created this bogus '7' extension bar. When I try to remove it, I get the 60 error reported. I'd walk away from it and leave the litter out there, but I'm getting 135 errors trying to legitimately add new extensions to the main bar now.

Could you tell me how you edited your data file to swing the rogue extension to the main bar and allow you to continue working?

I think I found the Idome problem. In Game it's with a small "e" in earth. I changed the lua to Middle-earth and it works.
Thanks, I'll try to get that fix in and tested for the next release.

If you are not located in the US, you might have to tweak the /tonic/tonicbars/localization/<language>/Captain.lua" to match the correct buff spelling.

Alright, I found the problem. When I did it, I removed a Main bar that had extensions on it. The first time I got the error and the bar didn't remove. The next thing I did was reload my plugin and try to remove it again and it removed no problem.

One thing you can try is to remove your "The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<Username>\<Server>\AllCharacter s\TonicBarSettings.plugindata" file. That'll also fix your problems.

I'll look into why that happened and fix it... (Extensions are a complicated problem). Thanks for the report.

It sounds like you have things in the wrong folders. Does your structure look like this: "/lord of the rings online/plugins/tonic/tonicbars/"?

For some reason the structure got borked when I extracted the folders so it was /lotro/plugins/tonic/tonic/tonicbars/*. I figured that part out before I came here actually and got that working but I'm having another problem now. I was playing with the extension bars and I must have done something wrong. Now I have a bar definition that I cannot modify or delete. Any time I try to do anything to it, I get the following error:

...s Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\Bars\BarManager.lua :60: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

It's defined as bar 6 if that makes a difference. I'm afraid I don't know much about Lua scripting, but if you can point me in the right direction as to what to delete to just get rid of the definition for bar 6 if that will help things I'm willing to do that and then restart my client to see if that fixes it. Or if there's a config file you wanna look at to code the debugging to check for whatever this error is, I'm happy to send that as well.

For now, it looks like my option is to just ignore that borked entry and work around it but I tend to be OCD and hate to have useless definitions just hanging around. LOL! But there's no actual bar on my UI clogging up space so at least that part is good.

Also, is there any particular reason why we can't put mounts on extension bars? I know you have pre-defined definitions for it but I don't' have all the horses in those sets yet and I want to make a random horse picker out of the mounts I own from the extension bars but when I try to drag a mount to them it tells me I can't.

UPDATE: Apparently the problem with Bar 6 is a bigger issue than I thought. I tried to add another quickslot bar and I get the following error:

...s Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\SettingsManager.lua :340: table index is nil

I can't seem to get the trigger for Idome to work either when active or when not active. The other triggers seem to work ok. Am I doing something wrong?
