I used the ctrl+c, ctrl+v to copy a note about plugins into lotropad yesterday : )

But... it did something wierd to the text. A bunch of the lines of text ended up with wierd spacing, which I went through and edited.

eg. There once as a man form Nantucket, who liked to drink from

a bucket.

Just wierd spaces added where I had to go and backspace to put the text back in place.
Yes, I'm sure something like this can happen but there's not much that can be done about it. One thing that could help is to first paste the text to windows Notepad and from there to the game.

Can you add some copy and paste feature? Like make it where it's possible to copy text from a browser and paste it into the game somewhere.
It should be possible with keyboard shortcuts. Just use ctrl+c to copy the text outside the game and then ctrl+v to paste the text into a note.

I have a problem when trying to use this (v0.70)

I successfully see the lotropad plugin when typing "/plugins refresh" or "/plugins list", but when I try to load it, I see the following error:

Quote:
...of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\Lotropad\Main.lua:4: Unable to resolve packahe "Turbine.Debug"
NEVER MIND!

sorry to have wasted your time, but I found that I also MUST have the "Turbine" folder in my plugins folder, which contains the Debug API needed. I didn't see this in the instructions, but once I re-downloaded and installed the collection of plugins from HERE it started working.

Thanks for such a great tool.. it's already proving VERY useful.

I just wanted to say that now that I'm using this mod (and have figured out the nuances of save/set) I really like it. Especially being an altaholic, it is really helpful that the notes are the same across all characters. For instance, I have one note that I put a "shopping list" of all the things I need crafted when I'm on one character, then when I switch to one of my crafters I can pull up that list and see what I need to make. Or I can make a list of traits I want to slot (plan the trait tree), then jot it down in the LotroPad so i don't forget it when each trait slot unlocks.

Excellent work on the plugin.
Thanks! I decided that having the notes shared per account would be the most useful scenario. Didn't come up with enough good reasons why it should be per character or server, other than just to increase the number of available note slots.

Hello,

In your LotRo documents folder is where you would create a new folder and then name it Plugins. From there is where you would put all of your plugins and the data from Turbine as well. Once you have used the plugins in game, there will be an additional folder that is created by the game name PluginData.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, Thay, you're marvelous

Hi all,

I don't have a Plug-In folder. How do I get one? Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I had to ask.

Aha! I wasn't using set for the body of the text, just saving. I tried again and hit Set and then hit Save and it works fine!

Excellent work! And a great idea! Thanks!!!
Heh, good . I have to admit that the 'Set' button is a bit confusing. Initially it was called 'Save' and it actually saved the note then and there. But after Turbine removed real-time writing from plugins I was being cautious and made just one global 'save all' button.

Also, if you just click another note it will do the same thing as clicking 'Set'.

Re: Saved notes not loading

Hey, great app! I can see tons of use for this in game.

But I am having trouble. Notes I entered for a test (and saved with the Save button) don't seem to load when I log out and then back in. Any ideas on how I can correct this?
Thanks and as for the problem you are having.. I'm not exactly sure what could be wrong. If you enter a note and then press 'Set' (this just enters it into the runtime database) and then press 'Save all' (which should write it to the disk), do you get text on the chat window? There should be 'Lotropad save executing soon' on green and then within a minute or so 'Lotropad settings saved'. However, if there's something wrong it might give an error text on red.
