Can you add some copy and paste feature? Like make it where it's possible to copy text from a browser and paste it into the game somewhere.
It should be possible with keyboard shortcuts. Just use ctrl+c to copy the text outside the game and then ctrl+v to paste the text into a note.

I used the ctrl+c, ctrl+v to copy a note about plugins into lotropad yesterday : )

But... it did something wierd to the text. A bunch of the lines of text ended up with wierd spacing, which I went through and edited.

eg. There once as a man form Nantucket, who liked to drink from

a bucket.

Just wierd spaces added where I had to go and backspace to put the text back in place.

Yes, I'm sure something like this can happen but there's not much that can be done about it. One thing that could help is to first paste the text to windows Notepad and from there to the game.

Errors

When trying to load this plugin I get the following error

Unable to resolve package "Chiran.Lotropad.Main".
Unable to load "lotropad".

I have the basic set of plugins in place and they work fine (I infact use the Vitals plugin quite a bit)

Someone I was talking to who was making some plugins suggested that these are all the other plugins that I was trying to use wern't updated correctly after the changes went from Beta to Live. So my question is this? Is there going to be a fix for this?

The plugin's home is -> C:\Users\chris\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\GamePlugins\Chiran\Lotropad

and the PLUGIN file's home -> C:\Users\chris\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\GamePlugins\Lotropad.plugin

Hm, was this the old directory structure? Mine are located at:

C:\Users\<user>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\Lotropad

C:\Users\<user>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\Lotropad.plugin

I've been having problems getting lotropad to save my data. I enter the data, hit the save button and even though the message says the data has been saved, the next time I log on it is gone. I have lotropad installed to the correct folder, etc. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Love the plugin, though!!

Not sure what might be the problem. But one thing I know is a bit confusing, is that Lotropad doesn't save data internally as you write. What I mean is, if you have a note open and you hit Save without clicking Set first, the thing you just wrote won't get saved. So, clicking Set enters the note into the database and Save writes everything to disk. This is something I should fix in the next version.

Ahh okay, I've only been hitting 'Set' when I create the title for the notepage. Thanks for the tip!

I have been using this plugin since release and I must say that this was exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for since the game launched. Thank you for your efforts and for your quality work.

Request: Could you offer a toggleable option to not automatically display the window on load? (Emo does this). That way after I load the pluginmanager I don't have to instantly tell the LotroPad to go away, but can still use /lotropad toggle to get it to show up.

Thanks, and I've actually thought the window probably shouldn't display on load. But now that some use a manager and some don't, a toggle could be reasonable solution. Of course, we are all still waiting for an official solution to this. For a quick fix, you could also look at line 9 on Main.lua and change that line from
lotropadWindow:SetVisible( true );
to
lotropadindow:SetVisible( false );

No longer saving data

It worked for a while. Now when ever I log off and back on, the data is gone except for the first line. I give it time to do the full save. Any ideas?

I will make a small change that might help with this. That is, you don't have to press Set anymore for the current note before saving. Other than that, I'm not sure.. One thing is that when you click 'Save all' anything you write after that will not be saved even when the actual write hasn't happened yet.

On the other hand, if it's always just the first line, then it could hint at a problem how line breaks are handled.

The picture should be copied to the following folder:
c:\Users\<windowsuser>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\Lotropad\images\

Then you only need to type the image filename, for example map.jpg, to the add image text box. Only jpg and tga images are supported. Of course, it's possible that there's a bug with it or there's something weird in the image data. But at least this is how it is supposed to work .

-Chiran

Edit: The above folder works for Vista/W7, for XP it's a bit different.
