I love this plugin, as it helps me to keep track of all my todos and whatnots xD but was wondering if you could add an option to have the icon remain under a window if the window has been dragged over the lotropad button.
Thanks for ur work!
EDIT: btw, i havent found the option to have it fade like songbook

Re: A few similarities to Songbook?

I use Songbook on occasion, that is when I have a character I like to RP with more than level, and that would mainly be my minstrel or other characters that don't have any set ranged item. I like how the songbook icon fades out and was wondering if that were possible for the Lotropad or not. Also, from what I've been reading, I'm guessing that the Songbook and Pad have different save functions, but having something to automatically save like the songbook does would also be a nice feature.
Lastly, thank you so much for two indispensable plugins for this wonderful game.

Hi, thanks for the comments. Version 0.81 should have the same icon fade as Songbook. Also, Lotropad does save everything when you close the window from the small X. It also autosaves when you unload plugins (or exit the game). Rest of the time, it just keeps everything in memory. Anyhow, I still have some ideas for the next version (or Lotropad 2?) brewing :-).

I am having major issues with this...seems like half the time the notes I write aren't being saved - even after I click 'save all' 2 or 3 times. I log my character out and when I log another in...all the stuff (except the title) is gone.
Any ideas?

I'm not sure.. One thing to notice is that saving happens with a delay which can take as much as 30 seconds. There should be a line in the chat window that reports when a save task has been executed. Could it be that the notes that aren't being saved properly contain some suspicious characters or something?

Re: Yet another request

As I said before I use LotroPad as a dictionary and phrase bok for many of the Languages of Arda (Middle Earth). The biggest problem is, after I import all the text, its a pain to find the words I need. Is there any way you could implement a search or filter function into your next update?

Thanks for the feedback! I've actually followed the related thread about this. I haven't looked into this yet, but it could be tricky. There's a SetSelection method for a text box, but it might not work together with the scrolling component. However, searching the word and then somehow approximating the vertical location, then moving the scroll component according to that, could be possible. Just thinking aloud here .

Yet another request
Mae G'ovannen,
lol As the title suggests, I have another request that I know is going to be harder to implement than I would probably beleive, but that would aid many of us.

Re: Re: Lotropad stays on top

Sounds good, remember to backup the data file so that no work is lost .
Ah yes, actually both plugins use a fixed layer number. Not sure what my original reasoning was behind that. However, you can test if it helps to comment that line (which essentially leaves it as default). So open the file in a text editor (Notepad if nothing else is available) and look for a line:
self:SetZOrder(50);
It should be line ~109 in Lotropad and ~106 in Songbook.
You can comment (disable) it by adding two '-' characters in front of it. For example:
--self:SetZOrder(50);
Naturally, you'll have to reload the plugin for the change to apply. Let me know if that changes anything .

Awesome plugin, my favorite! I applied the above suggestion and works great for me, now my bags come up over the top of it. Thanks!

Like Iluviel however I do have a request. Any chance we could get the plugin resizable? Or at least a wider version? I too use it for RP, keeping elven phrases and their translations in it, however some longer phrases are broken up badly and don't copy well.

Hi, and thanks for the feedback. Though it is not too apparent, you can resize the window by dragging it from the bottom right corner. Hopefully that will work for you.

Thanks for the feedback . An update to Lotropad has been brewing for quite a long time in the back of my brain. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. And I am still a bit unsure on how to go about it. However, the plan was to majorly increase the number of notes. Not sure about infinite though hehe.

Hello there,
this is a very nice plugin that helps me a lot with roleplaying
(I keep my character's correspondence saved in Lotropad ).
I just want to ask - is there any chance of having infinite
pages instead of just 10? Perhaps in an update in the [near] future?
Thank you

problem solved
Hi, thank you.
I got it back JUHU
Yes, the problem was that I changed my Account name, but after renaming the folder with the new name I got my memory on lotro pad back.
I actually found it by mistake, while I was looking for a log file where the names in the launcher drop down menu where saved. I wanted to get rid of the old account names, and serching for these names on my hard drive brougth me to the plugins data folders.
Any way, thank you for your help.
I am happy again.

Re: Where is the data saved?
It might not be lost actually. When you migrated your account, your account name probably got changed? In that case it might be that plugin data remains under the old account on your hard drive.
Look for this directory:
c:\Users\<windows user>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<old lotro account name>\AllServers\
Then copy everything there to:
c:\Users\<windows user>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<new lotro account name>\AllServers\
(The directory names should be like that in Vista and W7, XP is a bit different)
And hopefully it's as simple as that .
Edit: Forgot to add that some plugins might save things per server or per character so you might want to check some other directories there as well.
