Black Vellum is a clean and elegant user interface inspired by black vellum paper inscribed with gold ink. The current version contains the foundation of an interface with graphics for nearly all the generic windows and an updated skin for the skill and experience bar, compass and morale/power bars. Most of the user interface windows are semi-transparent with the default background images removed. Black Vellum includes Black Vellum Toolbars v1.1. The intent is for this interface to serve as a foundation for more complete interfaces, also distributed under the Creative Commons license.
More screenshots are available at LotRO Duo :: Black Vellum.

I hope you continue to update this theme... I know it's been a while. It really is my favorite by far, though.

I'm glad you like it! I started work on the vitals bars and radar after Update 1 while I was waiting for the art assets. I never really finished it though. I guess I could clean it up and post what I have. Let me see where I left off... I've lost track after so long.

Really like this skin and delighted you have updated it. I am having trouble getting it to work with the Tiny Toolbar though. I first uncomment for two bars and my definition, 1400 x 900, in Notepad for the Tiny xml, then copy/paste it into the skindefinition.xml also in Notepad. After saving I run Lotro but the skin no longer shows in the drop down list.
I know I'm doing something basically stupid. Do I need to delete any parts of the skindefinition.xml? Should I only be copy/pasting part of the Tiny toolbar xml?
Hope you can give me some advice on this as I'm looking forward to playing with this skin a lot.
Thankyou.
Edit. Seems I am not managing to uncomment. Done a bit of searching and am now totally confused. Is there an easy way to go about using the alternate toolbars, such as Tiny, without having a deal of knowledge and some sort of xml editor?

I'm sorry you're having problems. Try this.
In SkinDefinition.xml delete everything between the TOOLBAR header and the GENERAL INTERFACE header. In the tiny.xml file copy everything between the TOOLBAR header and the DOCKED QUICKSLOTS header. Paste that into SkinDefinition.xml. When you uncomment a line you have to delete "!--" from the beginning and "--" from the end of the comment. Likewise you have to add both to anything you comment out. Note that a comment can cover multiple lines this way.
If you want the docked quickslots, copy the DOCKED QUICKSLOTS header and the text under it. Don't include the </opt> line though. That only goes once at the very end of the xml file.
If you need help checking your xml, try an XML Validator.

Thanks for your fast response. Unfortunately still having problems. This is either down to my lack of knowledge or Notepad [as supplied with Win7] is not managing comment/uncomment for me. As I am old, wrinkly, and frequently stupid I assume it's the former.
Will keep plugging away and see if I can resolve it. Will be worth it in the end as this skin is what I've been looking for with the Tiny bar set up.

I sent you a PM a couple of days ago with some more information. Did that work? The forums suggested Notepad++ as a better text editor. Maybe that will help you with your commenting.

How would I go about changing the minimap to default, and whatever icons you had on it, back to default? Or just taking off the border or maybe minimalizing it?
Also, the transparent quest objective (on main map) how can I implement that into your UI? It is a plugin I think, but it gives directions to edit an xml, but they don't seem to work.
*NOTE* Nevermind I figured it out.

Bug found on vital target.
Hello, i have take a screen in game.
I have look into the xml for repair but not found ^^, im totally new here.
Anyone have idea for resolve this?
Sorry my english is not good.
stk
I have found the line finaly! :
Code:
<Element ID="OpponentVitals_Animations" X="13" Y="0" Width="273" Height="35" />
Play with the Height if you want the entire animation or not
If you want entire animation you have to change the X&Y too.

Re: Bug found on vital target.
I recommend disabling the player and mob portraits. In the options window: - Click on the "Adv Graphics" tab on the right.
- Scroll down to the "Performance" options or search for "3d".
- Uncheck the box for "3D Object Portraits".

Yes or change this line with :
Code:
<Element ID="OpponentVitals_Animations" X="13" Y="0" Width="1" Height="1" />
The animation art are invisible now.

On the minimap icons vendors, forge ... overflows, the circle of your skin.
Which line of the xml to change?
And on stable npc graphical bug for choice of destination, i dont understand this bug ^^.
If you want screen tell me .
I found problem but I have not yet had time to say thank you for your work!

Or you could save processing power for your computer and disable them.

Do you mean that the icons overlap the gold circle at the edges of the compass map? I don't think that can be fixed. If the circle is any bigger, a gap appears between the map and the circle. Turbine's code for the compass isn't very flexible for modding.
