to deactivate the alt key needed to move the icon

and do /alt alt to activated it back if needed

F12 still works as "Hide UI" for me, but this is the result:

(Edit) It looks like after doing /Alt icon a few times to turn it off and on that it does then work with "hide UI" but not at login (at least for me)

The normal key to hide the HUD is F12

it is not possible to handle other key events, like CTRL + U because

Lotro does not provide a way to handle those key by code...

The only way to handle the hide of the HUD is with the F12 key

sorry.....

edit: but i did a small change with the F12 key handler and the window should not show up any more

Hey,

So, when I have searched for something and closed the window, if I then hide the UI (Ctrl+U for me), the search results window shows up (as well as the button actually).

Can you make the button especially hide when the UI is hidden please? There should be a LUA option somewhere for that as all my current plugins do honour "hide UI".

You have to set a number in number format, if needed, no comma but .

exemple 100,1 is wrong and 100.1 is right if the is a space it is a character and not a number that might break
the addons



Just go in the \Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<Your account name>\AllServers

and delete the file : AltHolic_PlayerEquipement

and restart the addon it will recreate the file

i only save the datas when you log out, other ways it will save the datas every time something is moving in bag, vault or shared storage, and that will slow a lot the computer because using too much resources.

When it says (in verbose mode) shared storage saved, it is not really saved, it is loaded in variables datas and stand ready to be save when the user log out, if you log out normally, it will save all the datas, if you quit the game quickly, it might not save the file correctly, because of the file size

Ok, I can see it works like you described. I was just a bit surprised it sometimes says is saves data but it's not, but you explained these details above. It doesn't slow down my computer or game even in verbose mode, maybe because I play from SSD drive. My SharedStorage file is about 67kB and Vaults is about 170kB currently.
So far so good.
Now when I log out normally, like press logout, waiting 10 seconds, not clicking message on screen it actually removes data from these 2 files, like I described. Doesn't matter really, if I press that button (to not wait 10sec) or exit game instead of logout it behaves the same.
Actually if I kill game process (lotroclient64) it preserves data since it can't delete/strip them form files...
I really know what I'm doing as Lotro veteran using several plugins and IT specialist, I'm doing my best to do everything in proper way, it's very unlikely I'm doing something stupid.
For the record: Altinventory (when enabled) always saves the data and I can search without using capital letters (that's why I was surprised, I actually discovered now that item names usually begins with capital letter). However AltHolic is way more functional, saves way more types of data (when it works).
Is it working that way only on my computer, no one else have similar problem? Can you test scenario I described Homeo?
I also try to install and setup it on another computer I sometimes play next week to see if it behaves the same or differently.

Hi Homeo,

I have another question:
I edited with your plugin for one of my characters the description of one equipped item. Then, I logged into another character and tried to open with your plugin the equipment panel of the previous character. It did not work and gave me the following message:

Online\Plugins\Homeopatix\AltHolic\UIShowEquip.lua :238: attempt to compare number with nil

Now I cannot even open this panel when I am logged in with that specific character...

Could you help with that, please?

try to activate the verbose mode in the options then you see in the chat when the vault or the sharedstorage is saved, depending on how many slots are used in the vault or in the sharedstorage, it may take a few seconds

So I tested how your plugin behaves on my computer thoroughly.
I turned off all other plugins to be sure they do not interfere with AltHolic.
I noticed some things before you suggested above but after I enabled verbose mode I found more.
So I was able to build a database of my most important characters in the following way: I made a subfolder with copies of Atlholic* files, then when *Vaults (especially that one) file went up in size I made new copy. Then I copied back when I noticed a file is stripped/emptied.
While doing it I noticed that when I log out or close game *usually* (not always) *SharedStorage file is emptied (except header, size down to 15 bytes) and *Vaults file is stripped from current character data (as in current char section in file is emptied). Other files probably behaves properly (as in not changing in size considerably).
Next I tested the following. I log in and open shared storage in game. Verbose mode says that shared storage is saved. But it's not, appropriate file does not change size or modify date. Now I log out from game. In this case file is emptied.
Then I log in and do not open shared storage in game then log out. Verbose mode doesn't say anything. Shared storage file is preserved.
Then I log in and open shared storage in game, but also put something in it, verbose says it was saved again. But this time appropriate file was indeed saved (changed size and modified time). Then I log out and file is preserved.
I tested the same but with vault and it behaves the same (this character section from file stripped or not).
Now, any idea what's happening or what else can I check/test?
If necessary I can even show you through Teamviewer or something...

Yes you can go in the options panel and define the sex of the character (button at the bottom of the panel)
