Apologies for dumb question
But I have put the unzipped LUA plugins in my Doc/Lotro folder (next to other functioning plugins), and Lotro says the plugin is installed -- but how do I turn on the Travel Window window itself? I don't see a mini-icon or other thingie (like I do for TerrainMap, e.g.).
Sorry and thanks!

Just a short question for this great plugin...
I don't know what i make wrong...every time i start the game and log in, the suitcase-icon of travel window is at an other place. I installed the plugin several times, always the same behaviour.
Is there a workaround to make the icon stay there, where i want it to be ?
Thanks for your feedback !
Especially thanks for your great work !!!

The workaround would be to manually edit the settings file, removing the class and race-specific travel skills. But this is cumbersome.
Better sorting options are on my todo-list ( https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindowII/projects/1) but I had basically zero time to work on Travel Window in January. Hope to make some improvements in the coming weeks.

Sorting
I just started using this plugin yesterday, and was hoping I'd be able to copy the TravelWindowIISettings.plugindata file from character to character to give them all the same settings (especially including sorting order). However I've run into the problem that the sorting data is specific to what each character can actually get in terms of musters/guides/returns and other ports, so just copying the file from my warden to, for example, my hunter, does not work; she gets the general settings and enables/disables, but the sort order is reset entirely. It doesn't even appear to keep the order of the skills that both share.
Seeing as I have 30+ characters on Arkenstone alone, I am dreading trying to fix the sort for every one of them; it took me a good 15-20 minutes to sort the skills to my preferred order for my warden alone (which is waystone, housing-related, and then more-or-less by the level at which they're obtainable). I'm guessing I'd need to do that a minimum of three times - warden, hunter, other - and then copy them all to the right other characters, while hoping that them being differing races doesn't also force resets.
Is there some workaround for this? If not, can we maybe get some way to access a 'global' sorting list that is then applied to all our characters?
Edited To Add - tested copying from my elf warden to my halfling warden. Initially it looked like it had almost worked, other than the Shire skill having appeared and needing to be sorted to tge right position, but the travel window was still showing the skill in the wrong position. When I went back to character select and then reloaded the hobbit, the list was entirely reset to the default order. So it looks like I can probably only copy between characters who share both class and race.

Me, too, except I like everything in the same spot because of OCD, not for multiboxing purposes. Once I had TravelWindowII set it up the way I want it for a single character, I copied the TravelWindowIISettings*.plugindata files from that character to my others. Only small adjustments needed to be made using the in-game options for each character to account for different racial/class/store-bought travel skills.

Yup, that's exactly what I mean, I like to have the travel window and all ui elements in the exact same place for all chars(helps for multiboxing), so having position/size save globally would be awesome, that being said I'm sure there's some people who don't want that. For myself I just edited TravelWindow.lua's Settings.positionX/Y and Settings.buttonPositionX/Y to the actual numbers I want, gets the job done
Also I was able to make the window quite a bit smaller by editing the CaroTab part of TravelWindow.lua under "-- update the page that is showing", set the min width/height to 150/90(the window size is set in a few different places was a bit confusing for me lol)
I've tried to set the height lower, but it can't seem to get any smaller than ~88 no matter how low I set it, even raised the quickslot positions in TravelCaroTab.lua, so there's something else I can't find making that the "real" minimum.
I'll check out the Github release and see the changes, I've been trying to make my own little stripped down version of the plugin that's purely the Carousel for fun mostly, its....getting somewhere lol.

Thank you for keeping up the plugin.
Btw, have you removed the ability to add item maps?
|
That feature was removed by a previous maintainer, and reenabling it is on my todo list. The feature broke over the years and it needs a rewrite to start working again.

What I discovered, is that all my addon buttons will disappear if I have hidden my UI (for a screenshot) and then, instead of using the proper keybind again, hit ESC for an easy way out. Using the keybind followed by ESC a second time brings back the addon buttons.
Not sure if this applies to you, but just wanted to let you know about it.

This is fixed on GitHub and will be included in the next release.

Travel Window doesn't hide after I use a Travel Skill
|
If you are willing to install from github, the develop branch has a new option in the general tab that control the hide on travel/do not hide on travel behaviour.
Not yet fully tested though as servers are down.
I am looking to do something similar for the other setting as well and then release it with the next version.

couple changes I made for myself
Only just updated from the original plugin today. Thought this info might be useful for other people at the very least.
I want my Carousel of travel skills to be always visible, basically 2 conditions: - Travel Window doesn't hide after I use a Travel Skill
- Travel Window doesn't hide when I press Escape
I would love if these could be options to set in the plugin, global positions/size/opacity settings would be nice too. Would also love if the carousel window could be just barely bigger than the skills displayed and didn't have a close button on it(while still being draggable), I'd want a way to disable resizing too but there's a setting for that in TraveWindow.lua. I'll probably just stumble around the lua files and figure it out on my own at some point.
TravelCaroTab.lua
delete/comment out the red line, this stops the window closing when you use a travel skill.
Code:
-- set the handler for mouse click events, show the menu
-- when right clicked
self.quickslots[i].MouseClick = function(sender, args)
if (args.Button == Turbine.UI.MouseButton.Right) then
Menu:ShowMenu();
else
self.parent:SetVisible(false);
end
end
TravelWindow.lua
Delete/comment out the red line, this will prevent the Main Window from closing when you press Escape
Code:
-- manage hiding the UI
self.KeyDown = function(sender, args)
if (args.Action == Turbine.UI.Lotro.Action.Escape) then
self:SetVisible(false);
self:CloseOptions();
self:CloseGondorMap();
self:CloseMoorMap();
self:CloseEriadorMap();
self:CloseRhovanionMap();
elseif (args.Action == 268435635) then
if (self.hidden == false) then
self.currentVisState = self:IsVisible();
self.hidden = true;
self:SetVisible(false);
self.ToggleButton:SetVisible(false);
else
self.hidden = false;
self:SetVisible(self.currentVisState);
self.ToggleButton:SetVisible(Settings.showButton == 1);
end
else
end
end

Today was the first time in a while it's happened. This time, I know the exact circumstances: I just finished the "Bingo Goes For A Swim" solo instance, I was not in combat, and at the end of that fun little sequence after leaving the instance and reappearing in The Golden Perch inn in Stock, the button was gone when I went to mouse over it.
I was able to bring the button back – for one mouseover only – by hiding and then showing the UI. I brought up the TravelWindowII options window and "Show Toggle Button" was checked.
Note that when I say the button doesn't appear when I mouse over it, it's not just at opacity=zero, it's not there: If it were just at opacity=zero, I could still click on it, and I can't do that when this happens.

Thank you, seems the shoddy translation practices of SSG strike again and they changed the skill names in todays update :-(
Will try to make a new release in an hour or two.
