Could you try and post the contents of one of these files or upload it somewhere? I would like to check if I see anything curious in there.

Other than those files being there but being marked as read-only/not having write permissions I cannot see a reason why it should not save those settings for you, so I would like to identify the bug and fix it if possible.

There is a PluginData folder at the following path location:

C:\Users\marsh\OneDrive\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\mreid72\Crickhollow

Within the Crickhollow folder are separate folders for each of my characters that I've logged into after downloading and installing the plugin. Each of those folders contain a TravelWindowIISettings.plugindata file.

I close LOTRO by selecting Exit Game from the menu. The game does not crash when I exit.

This is the content of the Plugins folder, not the PluginData folder.
Make sure the PluginData folder exists, and if not make sure you have write permissions to the parent folder:

Bootstrap is a plugin manager one can run inside the client; Plugin Compendium is running outside of it and is not what Garan meant/does not interact with plugins on unload.

The file is also there if one is not using Plugin Compendium BTW.

By any chance, how are you closing LOTRO? Using Alt+F4? Logging out? Is your game crashing on quit maybe? Because then it might not save setting either.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean by "permission to write into" the folder.

Regarding OneDrive and roaming profile, those do not apply.

I am not seeing that file you mention. Here are the only ones I see in the folder:

CHANGELOG.md
README.md
TravelWindowII.plugin
TravelWindowII.plugincompendium

As you can tell from that last file, I am using Plugin Compendium.

Also, if you are using Bootstrap or other plugin manager other than the in-game manager, try loading the plugins without it. Bootstrap has a bug in the Unload event handler that prevents most plugins from properly saving settings.

Your installation of your game client and plugin is unable to save a file with the settings to disk, and they cannot be reloaded.

Do you have permissions to write into C:\Users\%YOURUSERNAME%\OneDrive\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData ?

Are you maybe using OneDrive to backup that folder and settings do not get synced? Are you playing on a computer with roaming account profile?

While playing, you could check the content of the folder above, if you can find a TravelWindowIISettings.plugindata file. That needs to be created to save your settings.

Every time I log in, the options I had selected previously have to be reselected. For instance, the location of the suitcase never stays where I put it; I have to move it to my desired location each time. However, that's the least of my concerns.

The biggest issue I have is that I will disable certain travel locations, such as personal house because I don't have one, and I will sort the travel locations in my desired order. But each time I log back in, none of those options have remained, and I have to do it all over again. This has become so frustrating that I just gave up.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You can add early English-language support for Tornhad by adding the following lines to IndexedDictionaryEn.lua:

Find the sections with replocations:AddSkill, wardenLocations:AddSkill, hunterLocations:AddSkill and add these lines to the end of those sections.
