Thanks to Merric for shining some light on Turbine's fading interface support. It's a great summary, which even has quotes from our previous discussion here.

Let's hope it encourages even more people to request LUA/UI support from Turbine.

For those of you new to LotROInterface, here's the official forum thread requesting the current interface art pack where Sapience (post #58) said, "I'll pass the request for the skin definition file along." We haven't heard anything since. There are similar requests for LUA updates, although I can't find a really clear thread to point to.
