Frame Aligments

While I finally started my skinning project for Lotro I noticed that for some weird reason Player vitals go under the Bottom Bar (or what you call it, the largest element where your main bar is located) but Opponent vitals are on the top of the Bottom Bar.

So when you move your Player vitals frame over the bottom bar it actually goes under. I wonder why the aligments are like that :s I assume they shouldnt

Heres a picture that might help you to understand what im trying to say

I did find a way around it though it isnt the way it should be done

we have different layers of the UI. the bottom bar is supposed to be "always on top" which is why the vitals are underneath it. However, several elements are on the same layer, which is why some of the UI (like chat) are over the bottom bar.

AHA!
ive encountered the same problem as the op ...

How about a "layer" tag in the XML to be able to change this?

And Daimon, what did you do to get around this?

I did dig a hole

aka I simple cutted a piece from the main panel graphics so i can see the vitals behind it. It's a nasty way to do it but it works and still looks good when done properly ^^ you will see after im done with my design

ah ok that IS a way *g*

but what about the "buff-bar"?
there you have a "window" if you cut place for it and you donīt see them if you donīt (cut) ...

and for the record: quickbar #3 (or #4) are beneath the mainbar-grapic, too.
fortunately just until you click them "through" the graphic (which is possible), after that it srays on top (may be just me *g*)

*thinks real hard*
...
maybe if you place the name below the health-bar and the buff-part above. should be doable with the player-<panel>.
(but a pita because youīd have to log in every time to see the results as H1cksī editor currently only reads the mainbar-<panel>, even if others are present (this is not meant as a rant)).
well ... maybe someday
