Talking Individual Character UI Settings?

It's a strange thing. I finaly got the excellent Antonica skin working for my main - I had to adjust the figures for my 1280x960 resolution, but when I switch to one of my alts and select the skin from the menu, it appears all squashed and distorted again. Surely the data in SkinDefinition.xml is universal for all characters who use that UI?
